Hotel Ban Sheng Teik

Great location in the old town just 300m from concubine alley. The room was modern and clean and the ensuite room was a good size.

The room was incredibly hot and stuffy as soon as you turned the air conditioning off durong the day. The windows were in the roof so couldn't be opened to let any airflow in. This also meant the sun was directly into the room all day when you're out exploring. I was there in October when it isn't extremely hot so it may be hotter in peak summer. However, the air conditioning and fan worked very well so heat wasn't an issue overall. This hotel/hostel is self check in and I didn't meet anyone who worked there during my stay. It was also very quiet when I was there so if you're looking for a social, communal area this hostel isn't it. However, the ensuite room I booked was well appointed and I enjoyed my stay.

La stanza era spaziosa ed accogliente; i bagni e l’intera struttura molto pulita. Gli spazi comuni ben gestiti e ben organizzati. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.

Es roch sehr unangenehm und im Aufenthaltsraum/Speiseraum konnte man kaum sitzen. Vergleichbar mit Schimmel oder feuchten Wänden.

I stayed for three nights. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel is walking distance from restaurants, attractions and train station.

There is a shared bathroom, which can get hot as there is no air conditioner or fan. Also, toilet paper is outside the toilets so you need to know how much to bring into the toilet.

I letti sono molto comodi e al tuo arrivo avrai in omaggio il kit spazzolino e dentifricio e l'asciugamano. La cucina è ben fornita (c'è anche una piastra per cucinare). Disponibili lavatrice e ascigatrice - con tanto di detersivo - lo staff gentilissimo sempre reperibile via chat

Unico neo è che essendo nuovo non c'è ancora molta gente

1. Spacious "Pawn" room with skylight window on the ceiling. Ensuite bathroom had strong shower pressure, Muslim toilet (bidet spray) and a very good hairdryer. 2. The shared kitchen on the ground floor, complete with fridge and microwave, was a comfortable place to eat and relax. 3. Location was very good. It's a short Grab (Uber) ride from the airport, with convenient access to Concubine Lane area, iconic buildings and outstanding food. It's also a short walk to the railway station for us to catch our train to KL.

Got locked out because the main entrance door malfunctioned a bit, but the staff had that sorted promptly.

Upmarket version of a hostel and thanks to the exceptional work of the cleaner it is immaculate. They clean daily and fresh bedding is ironed once on the bed - not a crease in sight! I’m still getting used to digital entry (main door, room and then a swipe card for the bathroom) as well as the lack of the presence of a host, but comms via WhatsApp were reasonably prompt. An early check-in was no problem which I appreciated.

Room to improve on a couple of things: a hand towel and liquid soap beside the hand basins would be good, as would dormitory doors that close quietly.
