D'Palm Boutique Hotel - Uluwatu by Yolla Hospitality

Everything. The design and decoration are gorgeous. The privacy. The breakfast.

There was a lot of construction around. However, there was no noise and my stay was wonderful.

The hotel is undeniably beautiful, with good sized rooms and areas to sit down and watch TV in the main outside area. There is free cold water available from a dispenser and the beds were comfortable. The pool has a beanbag to float around on and the location was perfect, close to the beach but also in a peaceful area.

We were excited to stay here, but left a little disappointed. First of all, there was an issue with the electrical system within our bathroom, which meant that every time we touched the handle of the tap and shower, we received electric shocks. The fear of electrocution is not something that usually makes for a relaxing holiday. We notified staff and they did immediately send engineers to our room, but this issue was not fixed until a few days later, and we were offered nothing more than an apology. The other issue was with the service itself. We were provided a Whatsapp number to communicate with the reception desk, and this was useful. However, it seems that the staff do not communicate with each other, and I ended up explaining our requests several times to different staff members. This does not reflect the standard of service expected, and comes across extremely untrained. For example, we requested coffee to our room and were greeted with a response from one member that we 'should go upstairs to the breakfast area', and five minutes later by another staff member that they could indeed bring it to our room. Everything was this inconsistent, and it was honestly frustrating chasing different people for requests.

The look was nice, beds were comfortable!

There was an awful smell in the hotel, the reception area stunk! And whenever we showered the drains would smell. They wouldn’t ever leave 2 towels, enough toilet paper, or clean the rooms properly. The hotel also takes 1m deposit or your passport however they forgot to return my passport and if this is something they do with everyone they should remember to give things back. Overall I think there are better locations to stay.

wifi issues and getting out of bed in the night is a trip hazard.

The property is really beautiful and the rooms are spacious and stunning! It is close to shops and restaurants. The staff was very helpful in organising day trips.

I feel this is the situation for the whole of Bali but there is construction everywhere.

Incredible accommodation in a great location - just out of the hubbub but not too far out. Just perfect! The staff were very friendly and super efficient as well. All in all, we had a fabulous stay!
