Kipembeni 'Grounding'

Kipembene Grounding is the 3 bedroom main house. Kipembene also has two other apartments above it, tho you’d never know. It is set in the most beautiful grounds, and is a spacious, light and airy, house. The bedrooms are comfortable, with enormous, firm beds, ideal for the climate and en-suite shower rooms; but the living spaces are extraordinary. A huge sitting room with different zones for sitting and relaxing. An inside dining room and study, which is very useful if you need to work. We especially enjoyed the covered veranda, with dining and sitting areas, overlooking the swimming pool. The grounds and pool are obviously loved and extremely well kept. The house is decorated simply but is very homely. We felt we had been here for ages! We loved that there’s plenty to do at the house, but you are close enough to both the beach and the town whilst feeling secluded too. The house staff are really kind and helpful, and Alice was wonderful at guiding us to good places to eat etc.

We didn’t find anything we disliked. We had a problem with lack of cold water from one of the bathroom taps, but Alice had it sorted within a few minutes. I’d say this house would not suit you if you wanted a party place. There are other guests on site, and the area is very tranquil. It would be easy to cause disruption.

This is a lovely , spacious house, set in large secure grounds, a short walk from the dramatic white sand beach and the Indian Ocean. The pool is clean and well maintained and the staff are thorough and charming

The only downside to this visit was that couldn’t stay longer!! But I will be back at the weekend!!
