Riverstone Suites by Cobblestone Hotels - Chippewa Falls

I had an issue with Booking.com after the part of my party who was supposed to arrive on the check-in date hit a car while en route. They needed to wait on a replacement rental, and because of the concern for safety of the party our call to the hotel to notify them of the incident was past whatever arbitrary time that the hotel had in place and when I called the hotel to notify them of the situation they first told me that because that time had passed we were a "no show" and that our booking had been cancelled, and because we used Booking.com, we needed to contact them to sort out the issue. A part of my party needed an accessible room and shower (which is specifically why I booked the hotel), and I had worked many extra hours to make this trip happen for my family so I was devastated. I called Booking.com and the person I spoke to had a kind tone and offered help by contacting the hotel, and said someone would call me within 2 hours regarding the issue. I never received a phone call, but got an email instead. To paraphrase the email which was in business-nice: you didn't follow the hotel's rules so tough. So Booking.com was not helpful in the issue at all. I decided that since it was our only real option in the area for our needs, that I should at least check at the desk and see if our party was out a room and lots of money. When I arrived I breathed a sigh of relief that the hotel had "worked it out" and our room was made available. The room was nice, and everything my party needed. The stress of how the emergency was handled by the hotel and Booking.com was less than expected.

Everything that induced stress in the story above. It was hard enough coordinating and planning a trip for my overseas family. When the unforseen happened it was even worse feeling helpless and fearing our accommodation was going to be cancelled.
