Ballaro's Vibe Historical Apartment Cathedral District

The apartment was clean, comfortable, had everything we needed and was in a great location. We were able to make some of our own meals and had a cute little balcony to enjoy a glass of Sicilian wine on. We also discovered the vibrant Ballarò mercato storico just 5 minutes walk away.

We fell in love with this apartment. The design elements in the apartment are inspired by beautiful Sicilian motifs, but everything looks very clean and elegant. The balcony of the apartment offers a view of a typical Sicilian street, an ideal place for a cup of coffee or a glass of Messina beer. The neighbors in the house are also pleasant and helpful. The kitchen is fully equipped, the bathroom is spacious enough. For the given price, I would recommend this accommodation to absolutely everyone. I can't rate the parking, we moved around by public transport or on foot.

Great value for the accommodation - clean, had all essential facilities especially the air conditioning, and very helpful house keeper who was living next door to the apartment. Ideal accommodation for a couple.

Noisy at night time when we stayed in late May and the area didn’t feel the safest at night time, although no incidents occurred during our stay (wouldn’t recommend staying here if travelling alone).

The facilities of the apartment were convenient for a short stay for tourists. The apartments was designed in a manner for rental. The decorations were nice, it was clean and cute. It was apparent that the hosts have tried their best initially to make the stay comfortable. However, some things already needed to be fixed and the management was not done quite properly.

I have a very mixed feeling about the location. It was very central, about 5 minutes walk from the Cathedral, but the neighbourhood was very shabby, poor and unpleasant. The Ballaro market was close and the whole suburb was very dirty, smelly and even frightening for me to walk in the evening. I tried to reach the apartment during the daylight and not leave it in late hours. Probably, it was one of the oldest and most authentic areas in Palermo, close to main attractions, but I would not stay there next time.
