La Finestra sul Duomo

The view is spectacular and the location is unbeatable.

There was no hot water and we had to take ice cold showers. I am only now seeing that another client complained of the lack of hot water within the past month, so the host is aware of the problem. Also, more minor, but there is a picture of a Nespresso machine in the ad while there is another type of coffee machine in the room. When we made coffee with the other machine, it leaked out of the back of the machine and onto the wall and floor as well as the electrical multi-socket extension cord which could have been dangerous. We cleaned it up the best we could before leaving to respect the 10h00 check-out time.

Tolle Lage! Leider kein Aufzug. Sehr nett gestaltet. Wir hatten Fenster nach hinten, war aber ok. Das frühstückslokal ist super.

Emplacement incroyable, on ne peut plus central pour visiter Catane. Vue sur le Duomo et la place, un spectacle en soi quel que soit le moment de la journée. Chambre bien insonorisé des bruits extérieure et calme. Literie confortable, chambre propre et de bonne taille, frigo assez grand. Propriétaire très réactif et disponible. Informations claires pour l’entrée dans les lieux.

Système boîte à clé. Vous ne verrez personne, tous les échanges se font par WhatsApp mais la communication est bonne et rapide. Le petit déjeuner ne vaut vraiment le coup: il se limite à 1 boisson+1 viennoiserie dans un établissement sur la place. Il vaut mieux le prendre par ses soins. Hall de l’immeuble vraiment très sale à notre arrivée, mais le ménage a été fait le lendemain.

Breakfast was a voucher for a neighbouring cafe and included a pastry and a coffee. Payment required for anything more. Best part was central location.

Misrepresentation. I do not recall having been informed of so many steps to get to room. No view. We saw no closet so saw no spare blanket but woke cold in early morning. Supposedly dressing gowns included but did not see them. Parking was on the street but we had to walk from Odeon ruins, about 600m. We did not require this, but electric charging was included. Where?

One could not have a better location in Catania than La Finestra Sul Duomo. The Central Piazza is ten steps from the front door – the Cathedral looms huge across the square. Cafés and restaurants are very nearby. Pic#1: The Duomo Pic#2: At breakfast

The stairs. It's a long climb to the room – salt rubbed in since there is a private elevator visible for the whole ascent.
