Location is awesome, host is friendly, well equipped except for a vacuum cleaner

Construction work in the building where the dust was covering the balcony, water pressure was weak, ants here and there, no vacuum cleaner (you need it)

Gemma del mare is a renovated, fully equipped and furnished apartment, at the best location of Crotone in a traditional building. It’s located only in a few meters away from the city centre and just in front of the beach. It has nice sea view from the two balconies. Definitely I will visit it again.

Nice studio in an excellent location. Well equipped with washing machine, kitchen, two tv's (!) and a small balcony overlooking the beach.

Lot's of stairs to climb and pretty cold during winter.

The location is good for cafes, restaurants and beaches and close to shops. The apartment is very clean and is renovated. It is possible to cook your own food although there are many restaurants so not necessary. We took a bus to Capo Colonna which is cheap and worth it. The museum is informative and there is a cafe there. The archaeological site is fascinating and the town has much history.

We have stayed in 40 properties from Booking.com in the past year alone, and dozens more before that. We have a good idea of what to expect and rarely review negatively. The apartment is managed by an agency, and it is not clear if comments will get back to the owner. The entrance door is crumbling and uninviting, and there is a steep and damaged set of stairs up to the apartment. The apartment is not labelled in any way. We were disappointed that the balcony was out of use, but we did get a refund when we complained, which was good. The WiFi connection was the worst we have had in all our month in the South of Italy, so needs attention. The mosquito screens were poorly fitted and broken. The upstairs occupants were very noisy into the early hours of the morning with loud voices and walking. Some of the cookware, such as the large coffee pot, does not work on the induction hob. There was little equipment, just one small toilet roll and no soap for the washing machine. This may be OK for people staying for a week, but not for just a couple of nights. We did raise many of these concerns with the agent when we checked out.
