Really nicely located in Furnas! The appartment was large enough and had a nice garden.

The appartment was clean, but the level of maintenance is quite low. Although all mentioned amenities are there, they really need an upgrade! The coffeemachine didn't function (very unpredictable and leaking). There's a cooking plate for only two pans (too sparse for a 4 person appartment), which at times stops working while cooking, or spontateously locks itself. The kitchen tap is leaking. Broken floor tiles at several points. The appartment lacks a sufficient amount of power supplies and lights (i.e. in bedrooms), and it is all very old (even safety issues). Although a tv is mentioned, it is only a very small (15" pc) screen in the corner of the living. Hardly visible from the couch. Uncomfortable mattrasses and the couch is very old and uncomfy too. Ants were running all over the kitchen (not from outside, but in the middle of the appartment) and also in the hallway towards one of the bedrooms. And something very simple: it's useful to put some rubber under the dining chairs. Any little shift truly makes a lot of noise (screatching plain wood on tiling).

RECLAMAÇÃO: A experiência nesta casa ficou muito aquém do esperado. Ao chegar, percebemos que o imóvel não corresponde totalmente às fotos: tem cheiro a mofo/velho, alguns móveis estão danificados e há formigas e baratas . As janelas e fechaduras não parecem seguras. As toalhas são contadas e, se usadas, temos de as lavar . Quando o meu filho fez xixi na cama, cobraram 30€ apenas para trocar os lençóis (sem fornecer edredão limpo) e disseram que, se precisasse de edredão, eu mesma deveria comprar, eles devolviam o dinheiro. Mas eu não podia comprar porque as lojas já estavam todas fechadas . Além disso, demoram muito a responder a chamadas e mensagens. Infelizmente, não recomendo, pois a estadia trouxe mais stress do que descanso.

Communication with owner could have been abit better and also TV was not working and abit more utensils to cook with would have been appreciated, especially for the price....... Other wise everything was great and as described...

Very authentic, plenty of space. We enjoyed the garden very much, had breakfast in the garden. Nice and quiet area, yet very central.

A little musty smell when we got in the first time, but with lots of airing it was fine.

This could be a gem of a traditional Azorean property set in a fantastic, quiet location in a backstreet of Furnas. The garden was delightful. It is a very rustic property. The facilities such as washing machine etc and recycling were good. But please be aware of the drawbacks. Towels, sheets and fridge were clean.

Not clean at all when we arrived and had to spray the entire property with disinfectant and clean all surfaces, light fittings, door knobs and cutlery before we could use. Had been heavily sprayed with a chemical similar to Febreeze to cover the smell. Fell ill within 24hours and were sick for 3-4 days. Also had cockroaches in all rooms every day and a cicada singing in the living room at night. Curtains in living room not fixed to the wall that fell off when they were pulled. Curtains and pole in the bedroom broken off and slung in a cupboard. Couldn't use the cupboards for food - smelled too bad. - Never met the host even after sending an email about the conditions. Settee stained and smelled - had to cover it with a towel before use.

Pros: the location is great and the garden is very nice.

Cons: Unfortunately we cannot recommend this place due to a series of critical issues: - The house is run down and there's a lot of mold in the room walls. Looks definitely unhealthy. - Basic beds, mattresses and bedding. - Broken curtains, no proper light in one of the rooms. - Basic kitchen and bathroom. - Lots of ants - not their fault but definitely makes the stay less enjoyable. - But the worst part was the lack of response from the house management team upon our arrival. We had requested a baby cot, but they forgot to provide one. After a long trip, our baby had no place to sleep, and our messages went unanswered. They eventually brought the cot at 10pm and apologized, but it didn't fully make up for the inconvenience. Overall, way too expensive for what you get.
