The Modern Inn

We were travelling with family of 14 people. We enjoyed the cleanliness of rooms and amenities they provided inside the room. All were true international standards. We were searching for air dryer and iron box inside the room but couldn't find them. But we spoke the manager while leaving the hotel next day, he said he has them at reception and we could have just called and asked for them. Not a big deal. We told them to leave a note in the room so guest would aware of extra needs. Plus items were: - clean and very spacious rooms - well illuminated - plenty of storage spaces (ideal if you stay here for many days) - hot and cold water in room with shampoo and soap (didn't find conditioner though) - comfortable bed (but was spring based. it couldn't have been better) - common area/balcony kind of area with tables/chair - very close to shops/restaurants/transportations. We ordered pizzas over app around 9:30pm and it was delivered in 30 mins. - courteous staffs. Excellent experience overall. We would choose this place again if we are staying in pollachi.

One challenge is "parking in backside" of this hotel. To park your vehicle, you need to go to main road, enter a next small street parallel to the hotel main entrance street. In our case, we put "The Modern Inn Parking" in google maps, reached the backside of the designated hotel park behind the hotel, took our suitcases then entered from backside into the lobby. The path to enter from back to front could have been PAVED BETTER and SEEMLESS. We felt we are entering the kitchen of the hotel before reaching the lobby area. Please be aware street that you drive for parking is very small street - cars/bike parked all over this streets. My advice if you are coming from "mini-bus" or 12+ seaters big van, please talk to the front desk and ask if parking space available to park your vehicle in their designated parking area. You can't park on street because the hotel is little bit in a residential area. Overall, It is not a bad experience for parking but just call the hotel before and ask the front desk - especially if you going arrive after 7pm or after dark.

The room had a perfect layout, spotless , with a modern bathroom, and a rainshower. Nice closet with safe, multiple tv channels, water and tea kettle provided. The staff was extremely helpful and polite

There was nothing I didn't like

We recently visited Pollachi for a wedding and are so glad we chose The Modern Inn for our stay. The service was exceptional, and the staff went above and beyond to make our experience comfortable. They were very helpful in arranging transportation whenever we needed it. A special mention to Manikundan Uncle, who was incredibly kind and supportive throughout our stay. His warm hospitality truly made us feel at home. Highly recommend The Modern Inn for anyone visiting Pollachi—whether for a short trip or a special occasion!

We have stayed here before and had a good experience then but this time it was spoilt by a staff called Mr. Manikuttan. Bad attitude and dismissive behaviour irked us. Plus the room assigned this time was congested and on the ground floor. When we got in, the garbage can inside the room was filled. Was the room tidied for us or just straightened? We have serious doubts.

We asked for wifi as last time we were given a slip of paper but this time, Mr. Manikuttan very dismissively said just search you will get it and I will tell you the password. Not behaviour befitting someone managing the front desk. Last time, we dealt with a different gentleman (who's name we unfortunately didn't ask) but we had such a pleasant experience due to his welcoming attitude. We even mentioned this to Mr. Manikuttan who was eager to dismiss the previous gentleman as someone who just comes and goes. Sad attitude.
