MUM Jungle Inn

Hat etwas von Dschungel Fealing. Liegt auf den ersten Blick etwas abseits aber man erreicht über die Schienen sehr schnell die Hauptstraße, ohne den langen Berg laufen zu müssen

Zimmer doch eher klein (aber trotzdem okay)

The staff were exceptional and we felt very welcomed after a long taxi ride to get there late in the evening. The rooms are very small and basic but good enough, with a delightful “jungle” setting - banana trees etc. Someone saw a monkey. We only stayed one night to catch the amazing train to Kandy/Colombo next day (the “Ella Odyssey” - a long day but a fabulous journey.) Very nice breakfast. Bed a bit on the firm side for me but clean and comfortable, with mosquito nets. Access to the station was super easy (but not for the faint-hearted or with mobility challenges), basically you walk down the railway track! At an approved time I might add. The place is very close to the railway which may not be to everyone’s taste. I loved it. The line seems not very busy but there was a 4AM train. A memorable stay.

It was a bit tricky to find down a medium length side road. Would be a decent and steepish walk to the main road (which I didn’t need to do.)

Beautiful place in the jungle, 5 minutes walk to the station and town. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. One of the best hotels we stayed in Sri Lanka:-)

Wir haben zwei Nächte hier verbracht und uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Die Lage ist super. Nur wenige Minuten zu Fuß über die Schienen bis zur Hauptstraße aber trotzdem in der Natur. Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich, das Frühstück frisch und lecker, und das Zimmer war sauber und gepflegt.
