The Peace Land

Staying here was an incredible opportunity to immerse myself in the local way of life. The host, Keerthi, was born and raised in Unawatuna, right in this place. We cooked Sri Lankan food together, made a bonfire on the rooftop, and had many great conversations. The house is surrounded by lush jungle greenery, creating a peaceful and refreshing atmosphere. There are many cozy spots to relax and escape the midday heat. Inside the house and on the balcony, it always felt cool – I didn’t even need to use the fan. Unawatuna Beach is just a 10-15 minute walk, and Jungle Beach is around 20 minutes away. The location is perfect, especially if you enjoy walking and prefer not to rent a bike. Restaurants, shops, and fruit stalls are all within walking distance. Keerthi is a welcoming, cheerful, and kind-hearted person. You’ll feel like part of the family, and leaving this place won’t be easy! Highly recommended!
