The King's Parlour Whitehead

Excellent location and so lovely to arrive and find eggs, bagels, coffee and milk

The only disappointment was that the coffee shop beside the apartment was closed (no reason was given). The coffee shop is one of the reasons we chose this apartment and we had arranged to meet friends there.

I booked this accommodation for a work colleague. He loved the place. Said he was impressed with Whitehead, hes from England. 10/10 and would highly recommend.

Absolutely nothing - The whole place was amazing

We arrived and were impressed with the standard of fixtures and fittings. Very comfortable bed, and there's more than enough glassware, crockery and cutlery for two people. The owner had left us bagels, prosecco, milk, coffee and biscuits, plus two £5 vouchers for the café next door. Excellent TV, although we couldn't seem to be able to watch terrestrial TV. It wanted us to scan for channels, and I wasn't going to interfere with other people's tech. The storage was more than adequate for two people for the weekend. It's fairly obvious if you go to the cafe next door that they both operate under the same banner. The colour scheme, style and fittings are similar, if not identical. Great friendly staff, and an interesting menu. I don't drink coffee, but I was told it was great quality.

A couple of wee things would improve a stay there. A small table, as we had to improvise with the ironing board. Some salt and pepper, and that's about it. A word of advice. We arrived later than expected. We didn't get time to read the information provided. Because my wife is diabetic, she needed her evening meal fairly sharpish. I went to a local Chinese carry out. I believe it was called Yah Kee. I'll be kind and just say that the food was extremely disappointing. Avoid it at all costs.

Keys were a gym workout to use.

Smell was overpowering, instantly getting close to the room my head was smelling bleach. Shame. Alarm going off at crazy hours inside their cupboards, that's a boooo.
