Villa In Sanur

Nothing was nice about this property. Beds very uncomfortable and owner did not want to provide a bottle opener

Beautiful villa tastefully decorated. Loved the indoor/outdoor flow and views from upstairs across some greenery and to the ocean in the distance. The pool was great too. Beds comfortable, good aircon.

Prior to our stay I did a Google Earth search and noticed that the villa was amongst a lot of construction. Prior to the payment commitment date, I checked with the property if this was the case and was advised only minor construction work and we wouldn’t hear anything from the villa. This was not the case. The villa is located down a small lane which was at times inaccessible to cars as the construction workers were using the lane as their builders yard. Burn off of unused building materials occurred each afternoon and evening using large oil drums. Cresting smoke, sometimes toxic I am sure - we had to barricade ourselves inside. It would be great to have more comfortable seating around the pool - a few bean bags would suffice. There are security cameras in operation around the property. One of them directly over the pool area which felt like an invasion of privacy - so we unplugged it. The villa is located in an area with little facilities around it in a residential area right by a busy highway. We had issues getting Grab taxi’s which often cancelled on us due to the heavy traffic congestion seen often along the busy road. We chose to cut our losses and vacate the property 4 nights early and move to another villa. With a bit of back and forth, the property did offer a partial refund for the unused nights which was welcomed. Having said that, whilst the villa is lovely, in our opinion, it is no way ready for bookings given the level of construction work around it, the lane sometimes being inaccessible etc.
