Four Story Townhouse with Sea Views

There was plenty of space for a multigenerational family weekend away ranging from 7 to 82, location was brilliant

The size of this property is big. It has a sea view from the living room window. The bathroom is nice.

This house was filthy. Every room. Months of dirt, dust and grime. My family spent hours cleaning before we unpacked. The house smells. The bathroom towels smelled of mould, I had to go and buy new towels for everyone. The boiler has a fault and so makes a terrible noise. “They’re waiting for a part”, apparently. The oven door doesn’t close properly and we were unable to turn the electric oven on. We were sent a ‘gas engineer’ to fix it. I tried looking for alternative properties for 10 of us, but at such short notice we had no choice than to stay. I was disappointed with the response from both Booking.com and the owner of the house, who sent 2 bottles of cheap wine and 3 small Easter eggs by way of compensation. They were ‘sorry I felt the need to clean’ and asked if I wanted the cleaner to return. My response was restrained. I would not recommend this filthy house to anyone or ever return.

Bedside lights would make it more cosy. For 8 of us, there was not quite enough sofa seating so extra sofa would be useful. The shower leaked down to the kitchen but informed the host and she was amazing and responded straight away. If you had 10 people staying, as one toilet is en suite, there is only one other toilet in the bathroom. Something to consider. Not a problem for us as just 8 of us and kept the en-suite bedroom free.

* The house is spacious. * It’s in a great location. * The view from the sitting room is really lovely.

* The property is quite tired. Overall the furniture, while functional, is mismatched and fairly scruffy. * The kitchen feels dated. One of the range oven doors didn’t close properly, so it was effectively unusable (we reported this). Some of the crockery was chipped, and overall the kitchenware was a bit of a random mix. We couldn’t find a corkscrew, and we actually found a plate of mouldy food in the microwave when we arrived. * The utensils in the pot on the counter were sticky which, together with the microwave, gave the impression that the whole place needed a proper deep clean. It put us off using the kitchen. * On Saturday night, the pub a few doors down played very loud music that kept us awake. * The hosts were responsive and did send over a bottle of wine as a goodwill gesture after I reported the mouldy food, which was appreciated. But, personally while I can overlook a place being a bit old and worn, cleanliness is another matter and, combined with the noise from the pub, it just wasn’t as relaxing a stay as I’d hoped for and I’m not sure I’d return.

L’agencement de la maison est réussi, le grand salon à l’étage permet de profiter de la vue sur les falaises et la mer. La cuisine qui donne sur le petit jardin avec bbq est aussi apprécié. La salle de bain est magnifique. Le centre de Lyme Regis est très proche, pas besoin de la voiture.

The location and facilities of the property were perfect for our extended family visiting for a wedding. The hosts were very responsive and helpful and always got back to me with answers to my questions.

Beautiful property and really great size bedrooms for all. Particularly loved the kitchen and little garden where we spent most of our time due to the fabulous weather.

Could do with a few more prices of cutlery, crockery and glasses for 10 people. Other than that I can’t fault it.
