"Fondest memory!!"

9.0

To you I say Mr & Ms traveller, as you are now I was before, and as I am now you will be, enjoy Beit Al Baraka as we did, an experience that we will never forget! the amazing staff, we had 2 experiences (cycling & beekeeping) that both exceeded our expectations. The food was mind blowing especially the breakfast - special thanks to the lovely local ladies who cooked our meals. Umm Qais is a place that I will definitely visit again as well as Beit Al Baraka.

The bathroom was very clean, but it needs some renovation to make this great guest house a better place.

"An excellent local experience with very warm and welcoming hosts, perfectly situated at Umm Qais."

10.0

We had a brilliant time here at Beit Al-Baraka House. The hosts were very helpful and welcoming. It is a beautifully decorated house and the rooms are set on 2 different floors each with a kitchen. There are beautiful photographs of local sites and traditions hung on the walls. The house is perfectly situated within 5 mins walking distance of the Umm Qais ruins of the ancient Gadara and we could walk back to the house easily at night after dinner which we had at the Romero restaurant at the ruins. It was also fabulous to walk back to the ruins in the morning to watch the sunrise over the town. Beit Al-Baraka house has a beautiful garden full of fruit trees and we enjoyed relaxing there. It has also a wonderful terrace over looking the town, and we highly recommend having tea up there to watch the sunrise. We then had a most generous and hearty breakfast full of locally produced traditional food including home-made jams and butter and freshly baked bread. We had a chance to buy some of the jams and take them back home with us too! This guest house is a special place in Jordan and we highly recommend it. We will visit here again.

Although finding the place appeared difficult on the map (it wasn't really but we missed the first road), we were able to call the host Shawkie on the phone and he was very helpful to direct us to the house, and he called us afterwards to check that we had arrived. Thank you!

"A creative solution and all in all a nice memory"

8.0

When we arrived in al-Baraka around 4pm, we were told that there was a double booking and we had to stay at another place as they were fully booked. This is spite of an email exchange before we arrived. This was our second day in Jordan and we were tired from the trip so this did not go down well. They put us up at Beit Philodemus, which was indeed a lovely place with charming owners. To compensate for the mishap, they offered to buy us a sim card for Jordan, which was very welcome as we had just arrived and planned to stay for a fortnight. We had breakfast at Beit al-Baraka, which was indeed the best we had in Jordan. As we didn't stay there, all we can say is that the Beit al-Baraka looks cosy, the rooms we saw had a nice view and it has a nice garden. It was also easy to find and we appreciated being given instructions on how to get there.

"Characterful and individual, with great spirit, ambience and food"

9.0

Very individual, staff very personable. Quite old fashioned and quirky but very clean and comfortable, plenty of space. Nice roof top terrace, and very close to walk to Roman ruins. Fabulous breakfast, the best we had during our three weeks in Jordan!

Would have been nice to have en suite bathroom, but we were aware when booking that this was not the case, and the bathroom was literally next door, so not really a problem

Lovely guesthouse in a great location. Great views. Really good breakfast with local produce and freshly baked bread. There is a shared kitchen you could use but they also provide great home cooked dinners.

"One of the most beautiful places in the world to visit"

10.0

Staff were super friendly and the breakfasts were amazing and too. Really comfortable room. We also loved having space to relax in (even though we only used it for a cuppa on the first evening, as we were so busy!), As well as a kitchen to get fresh water and store some things in the fridge The most delightful spot to stay - Umm Qais is just amazing!

Bit of a noise from the bathroom - boiler?? But really not a massive problem.
