Villa Ensueño, Lagoon Private Front

Our stay at this location was truly amazing: a private pier with a fantastic view over the lake, plenty of wildlife, and the beautiful colors that can be seen throughout the day. The cabin itself was a lovely little hut with all the necessary facilities. The owners were very welcoming. We will definitely come back here again. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

This bungalow is almost a glamping type of situation so you can expect bugs and creepy crawlers. 50% of the room is floor to cieling windows, and the curtains do not completely cover up the windows so you will not have a high level of privacy. The windows on one side are also covered in duct tape to a degree where you expect that there’s something wrong, but apparently it’s for storms according to the host. By far the worst part of this property is the host. She’s extremely rude and very vindictive, we could not get into the property initially because one of the other guests mistakenly took our room key from the lock box and when she finally answered after 15 minutes of trying to get a hold of her, she was annoyed that she had to open the door for us. After making a few complaints about some things that I thought were concerning and not mentioned in the listing, the host decided that we should not stay anymore and effectively threw us out giving us 15 hours of notice to leave the property by noon the next day. In all my years of traveling, I’ve stayed in almost every kind of accommodation you can imagine, but I have never been kicked out of anywhere for any reason until I stayed at this property. I would never ever recommend this place to anyone and I truly think that booking.com should take this listing down from their website

Fantastic private access to the lagoon. Just a 10-15 minute walk into the centre of town. Lovely sunrise views from the room/deck

While the place was marketed as private, there were other people staying in the house behind the villa. The shower was poor and there was almost no water pressure. The thatched roof harboured bugs and mice - which left mouse droppings everywhere in the room and the bugs would jump onto you in the evenings. Not enough kayaks and paddle boards for use at the villa.

Run away from this place!!!! This stay was by far my worst experience in Mexico. Not only the owners were not there but they were unreachable. I couldn't enter my room cause the key given in the box was not the right one. As the owners were not responding to my calls and emails, another guest had to call the cleaning lady that came to open the door. So then I couldnt even lock my room during my stay. The owners left for 2 days and left their dog leashed in the garden who kept crying of loneliness. The WiFi was not working. When I finally managed to reach the owner on Whatsapp to ask to extend my stay she asked me in a very rude way to "leave the property". A very humiliated experience. I wouldn't not recommend it at all. This is typical of business that only want to makes profit and doesn't care at all about the human experience. Very shocked by what happened.
