The Cottage- Hopewell

While I was looking forward to a peaceful and relaxing weekend in the Bristol countryside, my experience was unfortunately marred by several issues that significantly impacted my enjoyment. The excessive volume of messages made me feel overwhelmed rather than informed. The reminders about cleaning and check-out procedures felt intrusive and unnecessary. This information is typically available when booking and in confirmation emails, so the constant reminders contributed to a stressful atmosphere. The cleanliness of the accommodation was below acceptable standards. The kitchen utensils were dirty, so I had to wash them before use. This is a basic expectation for any rental property, and it’s concerning that such a fundamental aspect of hygiene was neglected. I also found the security deposit taken outside of Booking.com a bit concerning, as it initially seemed unusual. I was then worried about losing my deposit due to the condition of the kitchen utensils, which were not clean upon my arrival. While the constant communication during my stay felt intense, I was disappointed that my concerns were not addressed promptly. I had to follow up multiple times, and after two months with no resolution, I feel it's important to share this feedback so that others can be aware of potential issues.

Great setting

Shower is way to small and door doesn’t shut properly and shower head all loose , small thoughts but does affect pleasure also maybe drag some gravel towards top as it’s very deep where you park please

Key safe all good, although I do prefer a personal welcome.

Heating set to 16 degrees, not very welcoming.

Great and comfortable cottage, has everything you need.

Bit admin heavy with paying deposit to managing company etc-.l this was not that clear on booking.com. The road on the way in is very potholed which was not great in the dark

Lovely accomodation in quiet area

Location and views were excellent.

Once locked the front door was tricky to open from the inside, each time it took about 10 minutes to open it. First time we thought we would have to call someone to let us out. The shower was tiny.
