"Great apartment in a fantastic location"

The location is fantastic - 15minute walk from the train station, right in The Grassmarket area with restaurants and shops. Very easy to walk to all the key sites. The apartment itself is very comfortable, was nice and warm (visited in winter) and very well equipped.

The shower is very small and I am not a fan of the Electric in-line water heaters but the shower water was hot. The pressure was ok, but not great. This is not a major distraction from the apartment, we did like it and would recommend.

Posizione ottima nel pieno centro di Edimburgo, anche se non facilissimo trovare l’appartamento una volta entrati nel cortile, ma nulla di non risolvibile con un po’ di ricerca. L’appartamento è veramente molto carino, sia le camere sia la zona giorno, che si trova nel piano -1, sono entrambe molto ben organizzate e spaziose. Il processo di self check-in è molto facile e veloce, spiegato bene dall’host. Mi è piaciuto anche che ci fossero delle bustine zucchero, the e caffè in cucina, e tutti i piccoli elettrodomestici utili se si vuole cucinare in appartamento.

Una piccola pecca è la pressione nella doccia che è un po’ bassa e il soffione stesso che è un po’ piccolo, ma assolutamente niente di grave.

The location is simply superb — the flat sits right next to Grassmarket, and you can enjoy a direct view of Edinburgh Castle from the first floor, which is a real highlight. The flat is well-equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. It comes with a dishwasher, washing machine, and tumble dryer, making longer stays particularly convenient. The kitchen is fully functional, allowing you to cook your own meals with ease. The bathroom is pleasant and well-maintained, and the heating system works well throughout the property. Overall, it has all the essential facilities you could ask for, and the location alone makes it a genuinely memorable place to stay.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

The property’s facilities feel somewhat dated overall, and there are several areas that would benefit from attention. Door Lock and Access The ground floor entrance door is notably difficult to operate — I actually injured my finger attempting to open it. It requires a specific technique: one must ensure that none of the upper locks (three in total) are engaged before attempting entry. Closing the door is equally troublesome, as it requires considerable force to shut properly; without it, the lock jams. The door itself is clearly well past its prime and may be due for replacement. Cleanliness and Maintenance Upon arrival, I discovered a long hair on the washbasin in the first-floor bathroom. As a male guest, I can confirm it was not mine, which raises concerns about the thoroughness of the cleaning process. Separately, the shower was dripping when we checked in — most likely left partially open during the previous clean. Radiator Noise The room at the end of the hallway on the second floor has a faulty radiator. It can only be set to maximum heat or switched off entirely. Any intermediate setting triggers a persistent, repetitive clanging noise — almost like hammering — that we were completely unable to resolve. Given that maximum heat was far too warm, we were left with no comfortable middle ground. This clearly warrants prompt repair. Obstructed View The other bedroom’s window is currently blocked by scaffolding due to ongoing construction work outside, which significantly diminishes the room’s appeal. Location and Key Collection While the proximity to Grassmarket is a positive, the room itself is tucked away in a quiet corner, accessible only via a secluded, narrow lane leading to a small back door. More notably, the key collection point is located on a separate street that requires navigating a considerable number of steps — a serious inconvenience for guests with mobility limitations or wheelchair users, particularly when arriving for the first time.

It was in a beautiful location and perfect to everywhere near good food and places of intrest. So well laid out apartment and had everything that you would need including a dryer. Buy best of all was the commuication with the owners. Any question was answered and nothing was too much trouble. We have travelled for 6 weeks with 2 kids and this was best place by far we stayed.

Only thing was size of the shower but it waa still not that bad.
