Fabulous House near Airpt/DwTN/UofR

Unfortunately I cannot name a positive aspect of our stay.

I am a keen traveler and usually stay in rental houses and apartments, as they suit my family's needs. It usually works out very well. Not this time. I chose this house based on the photos and positive reviews. I expected a clean, and comfortable house, but the reality was completely different. We arrived at the property and were immediately hit with a very stale, mouldy smell. This was a health concern, as my wife and son have asthma and allergies. Within an hour of arriving, we also saw a mouse run from the entrance into the kitchen. The mouse just crawled under the front door, which had a wide gap beneath it. The entire place felt shabby, dirty, and like it had been rarely used. The most immediate problem was that the bathroom door, which was open when we arrived, locked permanently upon the first closing, and we could not get it open. We were left with no access to a bathroom, which was a an issue for us after a long journey. When I contacted the host (Rent2Rest) about the locked door, her only response was to tell me to text a person named "Ivan." She offered no direct help, and Ivan was unresponsiveů Given the mouse, the mouldy air and the non-functional bathroom, we could not stay and politely informed the host we were leaving after less than 12 hours. We were supposed to stay for an entire week, so the financial loss was substantial: almost $2,000 USD. The host gave one vague reply saying they would "consider" a refund for the unused nights. After that, she completely ghosted us. I sent multiple polite follow-up messages asking for a resolution and received NO response. Please note that the pictures at Booking.com do not reflect the current condition of the property. The pictures are low-resolution and clearly outdated. The property looks much worse in person. Stay away from the property at all cost.

Just what we needed for the occasion a hotel would not have worked.

The location is about a few minutes drive to strong museum, Eastman Kodak Museum and there are lots of restaurants nearby and the Rochester Public Market..

It was very peaceful and roomy. I will stay again and over all we loved the house my family of 9 felt very comfortable.

Not enough tvs and not enough rails on the stairs and not no where to sit on the porch I didn't like that people can look inside the house because some window didn't have curtains or blinds. Put some color in the house and make it really feel like a home away from home. But overall I loved the house my family of 9 was comfortable
