ZAThe location, views, the cottage and surroundings of the cottage including big park with children playing area, swimming pool, safety with patroling guards in the night. Kitchen facilities full of clean utensils and equipment. Jenga placed inside the cupboard to play.
1. The access: it's a 2km bumpy ride from the main road to the cottage which normally shouldn't be a big issue but can be a point of concern for a pregnant traveler and this bumpy 2km ride was not explicitly mentioned. I mean when you can explicitly mention every small detail, this could've been easily added. Being and not being SUPER transparent is actually the difference between an amazing and an average host! 2. The responses at times from the host/ co-host were a little unfriendly when it comes to hospitality etiquette. For example, we asked about late checkout (and i understand when it's a policy not to be entertained) but telling your guests abruptly, "we will charge you R100 per every hour after the checkout time". Kind of felt like in-your-face. Another example was a message that came from the host on the second day of our stay, with a lengthy note of how we will be charged for every item we break. And this message came out of the blue, without any reason and felt more like a "warning" from a hostel warden. This could've been easily be a part of instructions/ policies mentioned at the time of or before booking, even at the check-in with some kind of rules booklet or anything. I mean there could've been gazillion ways of landing this message in a more respectful kind of manner. Hotels/ accommodations do this all the time without making you feel like a potential criminal 😅 (PS. we didn't break anything, hence weren't charged as well, else who knows, I'd be writing this review from behind the bars 🙂)
