"Comfy, cozy little house in a quiet village, perfect base for exploring northwest Yanbaru Forest"

10.0

A sweet, simple, clean, little house in the middle of a very quiet local village 1/2 way up the western coast of the beautiful Yanbaru Forest / Nation Park of northern Okinawa. Surrounded by forest, creek, hills, a small Shinto Shrine next door. Comfortable queen sized bed in the front room; lots of space for the futons in the two "living room" like areas (one of which has a nice big sofa, the other very comfortable chairs) and back room. Kitchen has 1/2 size refrigerator, small microwave, 2 burner propane stove (and toaster oven), some dishes, utensils, washing machine in back room table for 4 - 5 people. Its an older house, not fancy, but well maintained, comfortable furniture, a few eclectic books. Parking in front of the house. Basic bathroom (toilet, not Toto), seperate shower room (no bath), washing machine (no dryer) available. Though I never met her Jenny's emailed instructions were very friendly and clear and she provided me a lot of information about the area, places to visit, where to eat, etc. Perfect for solo, couple, probably a small family, or a few friends. Not fancy like a resort but perfectly comfortable. It worked out great for me as a base for exploring the nature and culture of the beautiful Yanbaru forest area of northern Okinawa island (20 minutes to Cape Hedo; 10 minutes to resorts, etc.) Splendid isolation, but with resorts, cafes, beaches, hiking, restaurants all within 5-20 minutes drive.
