This property was in a lovely location inside a gated community. It felt very safe & was beautifully landscaped. The house was clean & comfortable and the hosts are extremely welcoming & helpful - throughout the whole stay. There's a lovely fruit market & bakery 5 minutes walk away and supermarkets within a 5 minute drive. Located only 20 minutes from Palermo & 10 minutes from Mondello it is an ideal location.

The WiFi is very limited - so if you depend on it for work, you will want to consider this.

Great location, within walking distance to beach/supermarkets but also good for local bus connections into Palermo centre. The pool is exquisite and although shared with the owners, we had exclusive use of it throughout our entire stay. Very useful little kitchen area, and the bbq/outside seating area was great for evening meals as walking to restaurants could take a little time. Lots of lovely animals that come to visit as well, many neighbourhood cats as well as the owners dog Penni! It also felt like a very safe location within a gated community, so we felt completely at ease at all times.

The bathroom could use a little modernising, and the smaller bedroom has no A/C so one of our guests found that to be problematic. Also worth noting the tourist tax isn’t accurate on Booking.com, however it was still reasonable at €4 per person per night (capped at 4 nights), although I know this isn’t the fault of the property owners!

Excellent location for getting to Palermo ( by bus). Recommend using Google Maps for up to date bus times and routes but make sure you download that section of Sicily so you can use Google Map off line. It takes about 55 mins to historic city centre. Wonderful restaurants in Palermo at reasonable prices ( by UK London standards). Da Nonna Cettina is in beautiful surroundings. Communication with owners ( by mouth with resident owner despite our non existent Italian) was good and excellent with owner's absent daughter through WhatsApp. Excellent pool and terrace with truly majestic views of neighbouring cliffs and hills. Our bedroom was very quiet but our friend, who's room looked out toward the back, picked up a lot of noise in the evening until late. Rooms and beds very comfortable. A car is essential since nearest supermarket is a fair distance to walk. Parking is in the street outside but da Nonna Cettina is in a gated estate ( entry by key fob provided) so it is 100% secure.

See above re: background noise. Whilst everything was clean, the plumbing fixtures in the bathroom looked very tired and an outlay of a few Euros ( e.g on shower hose and shower head) would go a long way. Also the recycling procedure needs getting used to: four different coloured boxes for five different categories collectable on six different days! Beyond the owner's powers to change but it took a lot of getting used to. The facilities in the kitchen were a bit random and dated for those who enjoy self catering for much of the time. We were attracted by the proximity of Mondello beach but this was disappointing. It's a long walk away, along pavements which are rough and overgrown. Parking in Mondello is very difficult and you need to download the EasyPark app to pay ( although it's cheap by UK London charges). The beach was packed ( middle of June) so we didn't even bother but used the lovely pool at the villa instead and that was perfect.

A good location for relaxing in peace and quiet, and from which to set off to explore Palermo and the surrounding area. An absolutely lovely family, very friendly and welcoming, who were able to provide helpful information about the area.

Not the most comfortable beds, but no less than we expected.

The hosts are very helpful and kind, attended to all our needs. The location in Mondello is great, the beach is surrounded by mountains - a view worthy of a movie set!

The villa is beautiful, the yard is full of greenery and pleasant, the swimming pool is a real pleasure. The hosts are friendly and helpful.

After 10 pm, the hosts are bothered by the music and louder conversation on the terrace.
