Ski, Golf, Trails, Winery, Lake View, Lutsen, Grand Marias - Sleeps 8

The property was in a quiet, wooded neighborhood. We had the convenience of being right down the hill from all the activities at Lutsen, but we were in a beautiful home where we could hang out with family. Todd was very friendly, approachable and really cared about making sure our stay was wonderful.

This beautiful house is close to Lutsen Mountain facilities and Superior National Golf Course. There are also lovely views of Lake Superior from the large windows lining the great room and kitchen. The kitchen is extremely well-equipped. The hosts have thought of everything that visitors may need for food preparation. We enjoyed lounging in the great room and watching the large, wall-mounted TV. All 3 bedrooms have comfortable mattresses and linens. The bathrooms are very roomy and contained plush towels. The whole house is very stylishly decorated, well-maintained, and totally clean. It was a pleasure to stay here!

Chef's kitchen was amazing! The style and decor was beautiful. There was plenty of space for our whole family. The loft was a cool space. The master suite was so well done. The 3 season porch was my favorite space. Beautifully located for the north shore.

The electrical was a bit odd, the fan remote for the master suite would turn on and off the upstairs fan so remotes were crossed, few outlets weren't working. The pocket doors to the bathrooms not having handles was a bit tricky but it was disclosed beforehand. Not having curtains was a problem with a little one trying to take a nap otherwise the bright light and big windows were awesome. The outdoor fire pit was a bit overgrown and there was no outdoor seating.

This "rustic modern cabin" is really a luxury home, brand new, in a beautiful location with golf course and Lake Superior views from the gorgeous living room and gourmet kitchen. Pristinely clean, beautifully designed, super comfortable, tons of space with different places to hang out. Kitchen has everything you need (we cooked 3 of the 5 nights we were there), including wide selection of spices and cooking oils! Beds and bedding luxurious, bathrooms fully stocked with fluffy towels, shower has good pressure and lots of hot water. Games in the cupboard, blankets for cool evenings, gas fireplace on a timer so you don't have to worry if you turned it off, side bar with barstools and USB outlets if you need to check email. This is a glowing description but I promise the real thing is even better. We walked to the winery, played games in the screen porch and in front of the fireplace. Lutsen Mtn ski resort is less than 5 mins away. Grocery shopping nearby is only for essentials so plan ahead to stock up on your drive if you're planning on cooking. Todd was extremely helpful and available, checked in and offered help with whatever we might need. Really went to full extent of hospitality - including friendly warning about speed patrols on the drive up the shore! Access via lock box was easy (we are frequent travelers and often find lock box access doesn't work or is way too tricky resulting in frustrating delays on arrival - not here - was very simple and straightforward.)

Nothing not to like. Honestly everything - e v e r y t h i n g - was thoughtfully prepared and first class. As it's brand new, there are a very few unfinished "punch list" items which Todd disclosed in advance so we wouldn't be surprised. These were minor and DID NOT affect our stay (honestly we would not have noticed if he hadn't mentioned). Anyone who has built a home knows those last few details can take longer than you'd like!

Location was good for the activities we did. Plenty of privacy from other properties.

You need to put handles on the sliding doors! It was difficult to open and close bathroom doors without them.
