Howard Johnson by Wyndham San Marcos

The price was right. The beds were pretty comfortable if not a little firm for my liking. Shower was passable. I requested a ground floor room and they accommodated me. The room was cleaner than I expected.

Road noise and noise in general was an issue. Sometimes difficult to get someone to the front desk. Over all when I could get somebody at the desk it was a man and he was polite. Once during the day it took forever to get someone and when she finally broke down and came to the desk she was rude and dismissive.

Everything is clean and comfortable, it has a great value

Well, I stay there every time I visit San Marcos, the last two times, they did not charge me deposit, this time they did, but I believe they were training the staff member. Maybe add some juice to the breakfast.

Location right off the interstate

The room had a strange smell. The largest, softest towel had a large stain on it. There was damage to the ceiling above the shower and on the wall by the sink.

The price for this location close to Austin is absolutely amazing. The location is also very close to some amazing places to eat! They have a sushi place and a bunch of authentic Mexican places as well. All staff was incredibly friendly, and accommodating. I had requested a room on bottom floor because of being on crutches and they set that up for me. Breakfast was good, it wasn't bacon and eggs but it was free breakfast! For that price, I mean, you could live there. I don't understand all the negative reviews I read.

The only thing I could find wrong with the room was there was some staining on the couch, but unless they upholstery clean every day, which it would leave the couch wet for every guest to come in every day. So it's impractical to do. Again. This place was just as good as staying at 150 dollar room. So for less than 70 bucks you're getting alot, so no real complaints
