Stylish & Comfortable Modern Getaway

Very comfortable with all amenities you may wish. Very contemporary and stylish. Comfortable beds. Easy to set up hot water in the shower and temperature in the rooms from central dial.. The host very responsive and helpful. Grocerty shops and cafes very clise. Very quite neighbourhood. Lots of milk in the fridge. I highly recommend the place.

We could not access Internet via WiFi. I guess there was an easy fix but we didn't bother to contact the host about it.

Beautiful house, nice and close to the city centre.

House was tastefully decorated with a homely feel. Really clean.

Public transport wasn't too close for those with mobility issues.

We had a great stay! The place was super clean and nicely decorated. It was in the perfect location for our trip to York for a family wedding near York Minster, with just a short walk to the venue which made things really easy. We brought our little one, so having a cot and highchair provided was a big help. The beds were very comfy, the kitchen had everything we needed, and TVs in all the rooms was a great touch (especially for keeping the baby entertained!). The street was quiet and we could easily walk to nearby restaurants and shops. We found a couple of lovely coffee spots near Gillygate and the Minster that made for a great start to our mornings. The free on-street parking was a huge bonus too. We’d definitely stay here again next time we’re in York visiting family!

I arrived at the property to find a strong stench of gas leaking from the cooker. I was asked to wait for an engineer but understandably I chose to leave and go home. Waiting in for a gas engineer was not what I had in mind having paid over £900. I informed the owner via booking.com that I would be leaving and requested a refund. They refused on the basis that they wanted to confirm that there was a gas leak. I then received an email to say that there was no leak and they would not refund. They knew I would not return and I could not confirm if a leak was present. The property is not as nice as the picture. Fixtures and fittings are very cheap and the management is unimpressive. I would advise not to stay here.

Clean. Lovely decor and private garden. Modern tech (smart tv, easy to use oven and thermostat, coffee machine). Lots of storage. Access code for the door. Quick responses from the host. Allowing us to store our luggage after check out was super helpful.

A little far from the town centre (20-30 minute walk). Would be ok for others, and some will appreciate a quiet street, but not great for older parents. Only one toilet downstairs at the end of kitchen.
