1st Crescent Guest House

1/ Located very close to Camps Bay Beach, just a 7-minute walk to the promenade with its many restaurants and bars. 2/ The room was spacious and looked exactly like the photos. 3/ We were able to store our luggage for a couple of hours after check-out in the common areas of the property.

1/ It was extremely noisy due to strong winds and poor-quality windows. 2/ The breakfast was disappointing—stale bread that seemed to get worse with each passing day, which made us question the freshness of other products served. However, the cooking lady herself was lovely; she made us smile every morning, and it was clear that she genuinely tried her best to make it work. 3/ We experienced a leak in our room on the first night of our arrival. After checking in, we left for a couple of hours, and when we returned there were puddles of water both in the hallway outside our room and inside the room itself. We contacted the property, but no assistance was provided whatsoever. We cleaned up the water ourselves, and although the issue fortunately did not reoccur, no follow-up or inquiry was made by the property afterward. 4/ The dryer was not working, which we only discovered after completing a load of laundry. A drying rack was provided only the following day.

Amazing staff, great location, beautiful place

The staff were great and really friendly. The house itself is super clean and felt easy to get to town and very safe in great neighbourhood. Easy to get down to town by foot. Sadly nothing to do with the home itself was super windy on my visit so sleeping wasn’t that easy.

There are 14 rooms in the property. I booked a standard room with a queen bed and external bathroom. When I arrived the room I was given was facing the mountains but the window was half way up the wall meaning it felt like a box room. I asked to move rooms and the host was really helpful and let me move, however the only room left was tiny and you can’t even open your suitcase or move about easily in number 11. On top of that there was a huge group of young people that joined Friday night they were up till 1am and starting waking up at 5 am. Voices echo through the building and they were there to party and playing music from 7 am. They were content creators and so taking lots of photos all over the property and leaving mess everywhere and were not considerate to other guests at all despite the staff asking them to be. I realise the areas comes at a premium, but to pay over £100 a night I could have been in a five star hotel anywhere in the world. This area prices are super hyped up in any even, but this house is like a hostal. It’s can be good to meet other people and traveller, but the beds are rock solid and my room was just very disappointing sadly. I know others felt they had good room, but I think many guests were upset with the volume of the group. The group were essentially all very nice just young and wanting to have fun.

Fabulous location. 5 minute walk into Camps Bay but on a lovely quiet residential street. Access to a washing machine. Fab room with great air conditioning. Spotlessly clean. Room serviced every day with fresh towels and the bed made to perfection. Access to a communal kitchen with fridge, microwave, kettle. Lovely swimming pool with very comfortable loungers. Fast free Wi-Fi. Breakfast. Amazing. Phumla and her team on hand each breakfast to assist. Warm home made blueberry and bran muffins, fresh juice, fresh fruits and cereal, yogurt, hams and cheese, eggs, sausage and bacon. Travelled throughout SA, Namibia and Zimbabwe and this is the very best breakfast. The whole place just has a lovely homely friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend

Shower area in room 9 leaks water into the bathroom. It’s an easy problem to fix.
