JW Marriott Hotel New Delhi Aerocity

The food was absolutely incredible. The breakfast was outstanding, with a great selection and superb quality. All the staff were truly amazing and kind. I’ve been to more than 30 countries and have never experienced such warm, genuine, and hospitable service. A special mention goes to the breakfast chef Jhalak, who made us feel so special with her incredible chocolates. I highly recommend this hotel.

This is a truly beautiful, safe property very close to the Delhi airport. I was finishing up a tour of India’s Golden Triangle and needed somewhere to stay for an extra night. I came as a young, solo, female traveler and opted for this more expensive property/location for safety. First off, Aerocity is extremely safe. I walked around by myself and got dinner at the mall, which is very modern and beautiful. You are required to go through TSA style security before entering the mall and this hotel. Second, the actual hotel is large and beautiful. In the lobby there are fresh cut flowers, a bar, and plenty of seating where I waited for my flight time the next day. Staff were extremely kind, and they were able to offer me early check in. K3 was fantastic for breakfast, and the spa was very impressive. It’s only about $95 for a 90 minute massage! I did not use the pool or gym, but they are there. There is also a store with the most gorgeous Indian dresses. I did not go in but admired from outside. There are a couple restaurant options but I only had breakfast. I did not have a room with lounge access. Third, the room was spacious and CLEAN. I used the bathtub twice, the shower was huge (but I could not get the rainfall head to work), there is free water all around the room, a mini bar for charge, free toiletries, and the shampoo/conditioner/soap were high quality. There are also robes and slippers, and that bed and pillows were most comfortable. Lastly, transportation is easy. There is a metro stop at Aerocity that connects to the airport, but I chose to take an Uber to keep things simple. It was hardly 300 rupees. The front desk did ask if they could help me arrange airport transportation, but I don’t know how much that would have been and Uber was just easier for me. This was a very luxurious stay. Yes, it is one of the most expensive hotels in the area, but way worth it. I paid $190 for my Saturday night stay with breakfast included.

Missed breakfast, left early. The bed was reasonably comfortable.

The check-in was terrible. They couldn’t find our reservation. It took over an hour while members of our group just sat in the chaotic lobby. The rooms were as far from the elevator as they could be despite one member of our group being disabled. The rooms themselves were “okay” for a 3 star. The marble floor in the shower was incredibly slippery. The hallways were dingy. The service in the executive lounge was nonexistent and the food was terrible (I found an insect in the Creme Brûlée). Checkout was no better. The bill was not ready, nor was the transportation to the airport that we had requested in advance. As we left the front desk clerk shoved a box at me. When I asked what it was he said chocolates. Those were good.
