Hermoso Depa Frente al Oceano

The condo has good AC and lots of hot water. The layout of the bedrooms and commons spaces worked well for our group. Beds were firm and sheets were clean. There were bath and beach towels. The balcony was pleasant. The kitchen had lots of counter space and there was a nice big dining table. It would have been nice to have a kettle and some mixing bowls. The unit felt safe and it was quiet except for one night when guests in another unit had a party until 2am. The property grounds were lovely and it is right on the ocean. The pool was refreshing and it was nice to lie on the swinging beds near the pool. Iguanas were fun to watch.

Note that the photos in the listing reflect a number of units, not a single one. We thought we were getting a walkout ground level suite. But instead we were on the second floor. The building was very strange and is perhaps beyond the control of this unit owner, but still it feels important to note these things. No staff to speak of, except for the gatekeeper. Occasionally a gardener or groundskeeper was visible. The hallways and common spaces in the building are run down. Tiles broken, windows missing. The elevator doesn't work at all. The concierge desk was a storage space for chairs. The building is very neglected and some units are missing doors and others seem to be under renovation. No one seems to be managing the facility on a daily basis. Or if they are, we never saw it. While our unit was fine, inside our door... Outside was a bit like an apocalypse had happened. The grounds were being maintained, so maybe that's a separate contract?!? The property is a long drive from any amenities like restaurants or groceries. You need a car. Puerto Morelos is accessed via a pretty rough road through mangroves. It cost us $440 pesos to get back from town in a taxi.

The condo was beautifully furnished, nice kitchen. Super hard mattresses.

The property looked like it was under restoration , pool cabana was under construction. Beach was not really for swimming. Condo lost electricity when using the hot tub
