Newly Refurbished Clarendon Apartments, Free WIFI, Parking

Location was brilliant exactly were we wanted to be a short walk to Blackpool centre

Advert says newly refurbished think it’s been a while since it’s been refurbished there was a big mould/damp spot on the stairs leading up to the main bedrooms and the bathroom was cold even with the heating on

The location was fantastic, only a 5 minute walk down to the Sea. Street was a little bit run down and on some evening's there were neighbours sat on the street in a group of about 10, drinking and being loud. The check-in process was very simple.

Went as a family with 2 small kids (1 and 3). It's not clear from the pictures, but there are lots of stairs (stairs once you walk into the flat as it is over 2nd and 3rd floor, stairs into the bathroom, steep stairs up to the 2 attic bedroom). The one year old just started walking and couldn't be left for a second in the apartment due to the stairs, so we ended up having to lock ourselves in the sitting room. It stated there was a washing machine, but there wasn't one. It states free Wi-Fi. However, we couldn't access it and couldn't find a router anywhere. The oven did not have an instruction manual. There was also very little utensils to cook with. The cord for the blind in the bathroom was not child safe and dangling down to where it could be grabbed. The bunk bed bedroom is on the second floor, and the two other bedrooms are on the top floor. The windows in the property were open and had no restrictions. We messaged and asked for a key as we weren't comfortable with the 3 year old being left on the second floor with windows that could be opened fully, we were told that there may be a kitchen for them in the kitchen. There wasn't one and when we told the host this, the communication just stopped. We then had to choose if we left the 3 year old alone or one of slept on the bunk beds with them. The two attic rooms have skylight windows. We went in the middle of summer. There were no curtains. At 4.30am, there were seagulls running around on the skylight and, with no curtains, the room was bright and the 1 year old was wide awake. The carpet was loose at the bottom of the attic stairs. On the first night, I nearly slipped down whilst golding my 1 year old. The property was not clean. We found black hair all over the property, and there was some form of dead bugs in the bathroom. There was mold in the hallway.

To our understanding it was meant to be 6 people and 6 6 single Bedrooms, assuming we are coming in couples is wrong, we ended up with 2 doubles and a bunk bed, 2 of us slept on a sofa and with no blankets and pillows, we had back pain when we woke up. Useless place

The property was close location to the pleasure beach which was the main reason for our stay

Absolutely nothing!

The owner thinks that this is completely reasonable to sleep in and will only refund 2 nights out of the 5 nights we paid for, even though we spend less than 30min in this place. Stain covered bedding with that looks like vomit and blood, smells even worse than it looks! Bed covered in long hairs. The bed was completely damaged and falling apart. The walls and floors are covered in stains. The bathroom has mould in the corner and what looks like bugs and mouse faeces all over the floor and toilet and window sill. The sofa bed was damaged and had a brown substance on the seat. We were greeted by a dead decomposed seagull by the entrance as well as lots of trash (bottle and party decor thrown to the side close by the entrance.) I wish I could add more photos and videos, but I am only allowed to attach 4. We left right away after securing evidence and cancelled our stay the same evening as we arrived. Neither booking.com or the owner of this property has agreed to return the full amount of 860£ we paid for this. When booking.com contacted the owner on the same night as our check in, he claimed everything was in order and he would not refund anything. Booking.com was not the slightest interested in seeing our evidence. At this point we were driving around with our two small kids in the car trying to find another place to sleep. Unable to find anything with such short notice we were forced to sleep in the car on a truck stop. After having been on the phone with booking.com several hours we got the offer to “only” pay for 3 nights and a compensation fee of 250£ from booking.com. Why do we have to pay for 3 nights in the first place? The place is a health hazard and I would never let my kids sleep in such a place. I find it difficult to believe that someone would take money for this, and the fact that you are not willing to return our money just shows what type of person you are.

It was a short walk to the sea front, and although the bedrooms were quite small, on the whole the property was quite spacious.

It's advertised as 'newly refurbished ', looking at the property now id say it was refurbished 4 years ago at best, its not been done recently, so quite misleading. It also has a large area of mould on the landing wall.. The WiFi did not work/ connect, made worse by the fact that the mobile datal isn't the greatest in Blackpool. There were no blinds to either window in 2 of the bedrooms , so it got very bright in there very early in the morning.

The property had Loads of kitchen stuff such as bowls and plates .The beds were comfy and the check in was easy.

There were many things that was disappointing first of all owner has lack of communication.second of all when we checked in bathroom was full of dead bugs everywhere.third of all the second sets of stairs have some sort of mould or something which is disgusting we were told the property has a hair dryer so we didn’t pack one soon as we arrived we realised there wasnt a hairdryer the main thing was that the wifi didnt work at all not even 1mpbs of speed.
