The owner of the Homestay, Mr Long is an exceptionally friendly host. He invited us for a generous dinner of grilled seafood on our last evening at the Homestay. His bright smile and hospitality more than compensated for his limited English. We managed to have a great conversation thanks to Google translate! The inner court of the Homestay is the highlight. It looks like what I imagine a Japanese zen garden to look like. Peaceful, calming, serene.

The Homestay is a 20 minute ride away from the main tourist area on Phú Quoc. Best to have a scooter organised to get around the island conveniently. People with a sensitive sleep like me might get woken up by the neighbourhood noise in the morning, so make sure you bring earplugs along.
