Very homely and full of character

Nothing! But didn’t get to meet the host in person

Warm reception in a cosy home filled with love. Soft bed, clean bathroom, lovely host Yvonne. We immediatly felt like home.

Value was ok but be clear you are renting a small bedroom in a shared house. The location was convenient, on bus route to airport. (Note if you Uber be prepared to pay hidden airport tax of £5 for pick up and drop off). Room supplied UK charger adapter for European/North American phone charger which was appreciated. The bed was comfortable and the shower hot.

The Edinburgh address confusion in the listing. High Road is busy with lots of traffic, which you can hear through the open window. Hearing other people in the house but not ever meeting anyone. The lack of door lock on the bedroom door. Details such as strong chemical scents throughout the house; pet hair on the pillows and sheets; empty shampoo bottles in the shared bathroom could be easily addressed. No TV in the room.

Yvonne, though we never met her, was very helpful & patient with our questions - even going to far as to booking a taxi for us early the next morning! She answered any questions we had. The room was comfortable & the kitchen is great - especially the Aga stove! Yvonne was also generous with some little treats in the welcome pack.

We had a room opposite the bend in the road, & it was a noisy night for cars & motor bikes, revving at the bend - & we're light sleepers. Maybe it's not always like that? (It was a Saturday night) It might not bother other people. It's a pity the toilet/bathroom is downstairs too, especially if you need the loo in the night.

everything was perfect. I felt l at home, the house is very cosy, great loacation and its owner a person with a special energy, very kind and positive. thank you for your hospitality.
