Maison avec terrasses et vues

This is a stunning house in Symi town - it has bags of character and charm! It is set next to a cliff face - so very private and no passers-by which we loved. The house is immaculate especially the top apartment, as commented by other reviewers. It provides a peaceful and beautiful refuge for simply 'hanging out' (Symi is busy!) There's plenty of room for sitting out on the lower terrace, although it gets very hot there with no shade.

The 180 steps up to the house was a real challenge for me in the heat with two knee replacements - especially after a few glasses of Retsina. Also our comfort could have been improved with a couple of sunloungers for the lower terrace.

Beautiful property with amazing views. The approach via numerous stairs was challenging at times but so worth it! Owners were charming 😊

We were a group of 4 adults staying for a week in early October, and we all had an absolutely fantastic stay. The house is newly renovated and beautifully decorated as depicted in the photos. What is less obvious is that despite the listing which states the house has three bedrooms, and while one could say this is technically true, on a practical level with the way the house is laid out this can create some disharmony among the guests depending on the relationships between the guests. The upstairs level holds the master bedroom which is the showstopper, since it has the best view and a 'private' balcony. On the same upper level there is a modest loft above the kitchen which is reachable by a ladder and one should be careful not to bump their head when ascending. The downstairs level is equipped with 3 sleeping spaces and a mini fridge, however there is no real view from this level from inside the structure. Both levels each have a bathroom, the upper level again with a beautiful view. The upper level has a large outdoor table for dining and the lower terrace has a little table with some chairs, and a pair of beach style lounge chairs placed off to the side where there is a lovely view. We thought it would be nice to have more furniture on the terrace such as an umbrella and more comfortable chairs for relaxing together as a group. Francois and Dominique were marvelous hosts and reside on the property adjacent, so should you need them for anything during your stay they would be happy to intervene quickly and resolve any minor issues. We had a little gasket rupture on the shower head and they replaced it immediately. We didn't really have any issues with the stairs, perhaps since it wasn't very hot, and the location is extremely convenient. I believe this house would best suit a large family, because the master bedroom trumps the downstairs sleeping quarters purely down to the panorama.

The apartment was decorated beautifully and was very spacious and had all of the amenities you would want whilst on holiday.

We loved everything about Maison avec terrasses et vues. The owners - Francois and Dominique are perfect hosts with a home nearby so were always available for recommendations and advice. Excellent communication before and during the holiday. The maison is simply yet beautifully furnished and equipped with everything we needed. There were only two of us so we didn't actually use the lower floor at all as the top floor was all we needed. The views from the bedroom and terrace are spectacular.

There was nothing we did not like. A perfect holiday.

It was super easy, we met Jennie upon arrival, who guided us through the house and gave us the keys to the house. The hosts was easy to get a hold on and the house was clean, nice and cosy. We had a great stay and hope to come back next year.

The house is beautiful. Simply and elegantly furnished with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. The views across Gialos are stunning. The owners' communication was open and honest as well as timely. Massive thanks to Jenine who couldn't do enough to help us and make us feel at home. She's worth her weight in Marmite! Thank you Dominique and Francois for a wonderful holiday.

Those terrific views come at a cost. There are 167 stairs (yes, I counted every one of them!) to the front door from the harbour. We were expecting it, so not a big deal.
