GBA lovely little gem. Staff were so friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be returning.
It didn't make a difference to me as I had checked the reviews and do not need silence to relax. However before you book do be mindful that the rooms are located above a bar/restaurant and the hustle and bustle does carry. This did not take away from my stay at all though.

Worst Hotel we have ever stayed at. No idea how it got such a high rating. The room was incredibly small, you could barely move around, but that was by far not the worst part. The door does not fit into the frame and rattles the entire time, it also means you can hear every single word said downstairs. The music boomed through the floor so we could hear a continuous thumping until like 10 at night. Now for some reason they have decided to put the emergency exit light inside the room, this means all night long you have a bright green light shining in your face while trying to sleep. It woke me up like 5 times through out the night, horrible. And if that wasn't enough after a horrible night of barely any sleep, who ever works at the hotel decided to start vacuuming at 8 in the morning waking both me and my partner up, how inconsiderate to your guests is that. Is it so hard to wait 2h until they have checked out? Or a least until after breakfast when you know your guests are awake. We have arrived at the worst hotel breakfast I have ever had, not sure my scrambled egg has ever seen an egg, with its weird grey colour and flavourless gummy texture. I would advise anyone to stay clear of this "hotel".
GBGBGBGBGBWhat's not to like? A reinvigoration of an old pub, done as well as you could imagine yourself if you had free rein. Booking, welcome, stay, departure, all top class.
My scrambled eggs could have been a little bit more yellow at breakfast. Also the melba toast could have been a nice chewy sourdough.
GBHotel is situated in the middle of Norham, which is a historic village with a ruined castle. The hotel is more of a pub with rooms, but the facilities are up to good hotel standards. The lunch and breakfast were excellent.
The hotel does not have an evening restaurant, but the other pub in the village more than compensates for this lack. Small point. A cheap coffee pod machine in the bedroom would be a considerable improvement on instant coffee sachets. (I frequently make this point in other reviews)
GBall aspects of this hotel are lovely. location, décor, staff the rooms. the water pressure in the shower is fantastic. Quality little gem of a hotel, and i hope i will have the excuse to come back soon

GBLovely welcoming atmosphere. Our first time staying after 2 visits for lunch. Rooms fresh and clean. Excellent breakfast - beautifully cooked with high quality local ingredients. The whole team are very friendly and helpful.
