Killawalla Cottage was a comfortable place for our trip. Good value and great location for our purposes.

Everyone makes mistakes. In this case, the owner forgot to give me the code to his lockbox where the key was held. It took a few hours to get that resolved. Ultimately, we did get into the property, albeit later than planned. The huge issue for me and the owner was the lack of support from Booking.com. They erroneously refunded my money 2 days after check in and they refused to give the owner back the funds when we both pointed out their mistake. I had to pay the owner off of Booking.com so he could get his money. The customer support via the Booking.com site and app was terrible. The support from customer service reached by phone was somewhat better, but a mixed bag. It took over a week to get this resolved. I think both the owner and I were treated very poorly by the company. The property owner couldn't have been nicer and left me convinced I could trust him when dealing with him off of the Booking.com platform. To be clear, the owner was really not the issue -- Booking.com was.

We had been traveling around ireland for about 10 days. This little cottage was cozy and it felt like home to us. My boys got a big kick out of the horses at the next farm. A very enjoyable stay!

The shower base needs to be refinished but it worked well.

Lovely location and very quiet.

Clean and comfortable cottage, in a quiet rural setting, peaceful and relaxing! Cottage is warm and cosy with heating timed morning and evening. Large TV in living space and main bedroom. Lovely comfy sofa and chair to chill out on in living space also.

Wardrobes don't open fully in kids bedrooms , hard to access clothes. Kitchen could do with some more utensils, cooking trays etc. Maximum of 2 adults and 2 children as kitchen is very tight for space.

Clean, good location, good bedding and towels picturesque sorounding, good washing facilties

It would be better to have a few more kitchen ustensils

Location was great. Covers on the beds were attractive. There were 2 large TVs. Internet worked.

Cottage has some pluses but was very cold and when we called about this, we were told that the heat was on a timer and would improve- we slept in our clothes as it remained cold. We placed wood on the stove but this only improved the living area space, not the bedrooms. The bathroom off the master suite had a circuit problem and it took some time to figure out how to turn the circuit back on so we could have a shower. There were 3 of us but the kitchen had minimal supplies. There was a stove but only 2 sauce pans and no knives or cooking utensils. We were limited to the microwave. We wanted to eat there but the dishes and lack of pots and pans precluded this. We were mystified by this and didn't have any alternatives as it was the New Year's weekend.

Cleaning was great

The direction was totally wrong on the booking.com. we had to drive 25 km extra from the first direction. It really turned us off for the propert. The location is quite far from the town centre. One of the shower didn't run and the propert owner had no idea how to sort it out. We were lucky to bring some kitchen cutlers. There was not enough kitchen materials at the property.
