Scotland Street, Newton Heath

Great for a one night stay! I stayed in the room with an en-suite which i recommend! All the facilities you would need in the kitchen as well!

The walls were paper thin so you can hear all the other residents, but I'm a heavy sleeper so wasnt too bad

Nice room with ensuite bathroom (shower). Bedding and towels fresh and clean. Great location for the area, supermarkets 30 seconds walk from property. On street parking. There's a kitchen downstairs with plates, cups, cutlery etc and a microwave and fridge freezer, which were all spotless, if you wanted to prepare tea or coffee or make yourself breakfast. There's also a lounge with sofa, table and chairs if you don’t want to spend all your time in your room. We were going to a concert the first night at Co-op Arena, we didn't want to bring the car so we walked it (about 45 mins), but buses and taxis available if you don’t want to walk. Tram stop was about 10 minutes walk away. We'd been to Manchester City centre previously so we caught tram to Oldham in other direction. Had some tasty food at the beautiful Egyptian Room and then went next door to see a film in the Odeon cinema (all located in the renovated old town hall). The next morning we walked down the canal stopping for a drink at the Boat and Horses pub before walking back. We met the owner who was very nice (he was there to sort out the rooms for new guests).

The stairs are steep, so have to be careful coming down. The back yard is currently under works so looks a bit messy if looking out of kitchen window (but doesn't affect quality of your stay).

Very good. Only 2 negatives. You can hear the other people staying and it’s not in the best area I felt
