Amelia Room BW Boutique Hotel

Beautiful setting. Registration was well thought out and easy to follow. The kitchen, refrigerator and all facilities were very adequate.

Stairs were hard to navigate with my bum knee. No internet on first night and after texting owner they asked me to reboot the router. The problem was a circuit was blown and I had to go downstairs in the basement to reset the breaker. Even with these issues it was a unique experience in a beautiful setting.

The property was charming and very comfortable.

Communication was good. We were not sure if we were to lock all doors or if there was a caretaker who did that. Also the radio had been left on and we were unsure if a caretaker turned it off or we should. However, we could have communicated better also.

It was great having use of kitchen for refrigerating food, making coffee in the morning etc. And use of the whole house to sit and read was also nice. There was not much for restaurant choice in the town itself, but the Blue Pelican restaurant down the street was great.

No complaints whatsoever.

Nicely restore historic old two story house, that was spotlessly maintained. This facility would be great for family gathering or some sort of mutual friend gathering, with shared kitchen, dining room, TV room, living room. Walking distance to all village amenities. Only a very short distance to the lake.

To start, I didn't do the due diligence I should have. Booking.com description needs to be edited to agree with their website. This stay was to break up the trip from UP to Grand Rapids. This does not match my understanding of a Boutique Hotel. All communications were good, but only thru email, and which seemed AI generated, as they didn't exactly match our circumstances. Amelia room did have a "private bathroom," altho across the hallway. It does not have a private kitchen or patio. The room floor A/C was loud and windows were not operable. We are not fans of 4" foam mattress topper. And one of blackout shades was not properly installed. A TV was in common room downstairs, (altho we don't usually watch TV, in this instance, wanted to watch Olympics). Central Lake has little to offer, will be looking into Bellaire next year. At $200 was not a good value. On our trip north, for $50 less stayed at wonderful Terrace Inn in Petosky.

Well stocked kitchen tho all we used was coffee. Love the refrigerator with compartments for each room. Comfy bed and very clean.

Should have note in kitchen about coffee and location of ice.

It was easy to check in on our own, we loved Leo!

Bathroom across the hall was tough, just unexpected.
