Lovely authentic homestay experience. Hiro is a champion host - helpful, funny, considerate. He would readily drive to the local station to pick us up after our day’s adventures. His suggestions for day trips were excellent and thorough. Hiro also booked a local Japanese restaurant for us as he was encouraging us to have an authentic dining experience. It was awesome. A huge bonus was also his home onsen which was fantastic! And Marie is gorgeous.

For those who want to stay in the heart of Nikko this property may not be for you. But for us, we were fine with being out of town a short distance and we loved chatting away with Hiro as he’d drive us to and from the station which was an 8 minute train ride from downtown Nikko so no problem really. Certainly wasn’t a negative for us but may be for some.

The best service. The apartment is clean and in old japanese style. The futons are soft and good for sleep. There were a possibility to ask for a hot bath, which is prepared by the host. The host is very friendly, open to help in any necessary matter and talkative. The host gave good suggestions of grocery stores, entertainment stores and provide couple route options for 1 day trip in Nikko. If you don't know how to plan the trip as the host before the arrival. It was very pleasant to stay here, therefore full recommendation.

Hiro-San was a wonderful host who made sure we felt comfortable in his bnb. The building is lovely with traditional rooms, a great bath, and shared kitchen. Hiro was very generous in driving us to and from his property, since it is located away from town (about a 30-min walk under cedar trees) from Shimo-Imaichi station, the main train you’ll use to go to Nikko town.

Travelers should be aware it is located a bit far from town, but Hiro-San is always willing to drive you into and back from town. There is also a bus stop nearby.

Absolutely beautiful place run by the man, the myth, the legend that is Hiro-san. He is an absolutely perfect host. The place is immaculate and we'll maintained. And the onsen is the cherry on top of it all. Such a nice experience overall. I would recommend this place to anyone. It really is a fantastic experience. Hiro-san goes above and beyond.

The only problem is that you need to take a train to get to Tobu-Nikko. But it is irrelevant since Hiro-san will give you a ride to and from the nearby station. And the ride is a pleasent 15 minute trip with good views out of the right side. Honestly not a dislike it just needs to be mentioned

The house is a traditional Japanese home that feels like being transported into another world. The location is quiet, on the outskirts of the city and surrounded by a beautiful forest. It feels incredibly cozy and welcoming. The host was very sweet and lovely and even offered to pick me up and drive me to the nearest train station every day. I felt very well taken care of throughout my stay. I couldn’t recommend it enough!

Hiro is the most amazing host. He was knowledgeable and a great communicator. It was lovely to experience a traditional place and the area has a lot of beautiful places and things to offer. If visiting Nikko I would 109% recommend the Cozy Inn
