ILThis is a place you crash at for a night or two. It's somehow affordable given other options in the city. The place is clean - but not shiny new. There are 2 large rooms with heating. The beds are ok. There's a fridge and some eclectic food packages (mostly Asian) in the pantry. 2 big screen TVs, hot water in the shower, Wi-Fi 5g, etc. - it's all the basic stuff that you need for 1-2 nights, assuming you're out and about in the city and just looking for a place to sleep in for the night. It's relatively close to the R and E trains. The host was kind, helpful, and very responsive for my questions and check in/check out instructions.
It's an old apartment. The lock is a bit dodgy, the drawers are clunky, the isolation is not perfect (there's a small hole in the wall...), the bath curtain is yellow, the heating is noisy (but I hear entire NYC has this issue), and so on. It's everything you imagine from an old place. The Wi-Fi is not secured with a password. There's also a weird shoes rack with other people's shoes in the entrance. I'm ok with all of that if it's for a night or two, but I'm 100% sure my wife would not stay in such a place.
