Plantation Bay a Real Resort with a Real Spa

The property was well maintained. Good for families and big groups. The staff was friendly and hospitable.

The breakfast options were limited.

Stayed 2 nights with 2 adults and 2 kids under 12. There was a small hiccup at check in (they assigned us to a room where they were working on the bathroom), but quickly found us a new one. They offered us a complementary spa visit for the inconvenience. There were many craft activities for the kids throughout the day, great restaurants to eat at, breakfast buffet was good overall, and a Game Center that the kids loved (paid video games, free pool/pingpong/foosball). The gym was also nice. The wait for a golf cart ride was short, but walking was easy since the property is built in a circular shape. Souvenir shops closed early and the Filipino special dinner was fun. It is a busy drive from the airport. The shuttle wasn’t available when we needed it, so we had to get a taxi. Also, all of the staff were very kind and helpful. I would definitely stay again if we visited Cebu even on a short trip like this one.

The facilities. Good for kids.

The check in took us forever. So I actually booked for this hotel because i want a pool access from our room. Upon check in they want to charge me another thousands for a family room of five instead of the family of four that I booked. I did not include my 3 year old toddler since she is just gonna share bed with us and i know hotels saying kids stay for free is actually not true. They would actually charged kids. The front desk staff insisted me to change the room that can accommodate 5 people which doesn’t have the pool access (higher floor) and charge me another thousands (i forgot the exact amount) but will only give us an extra mattress for the toddler. I asked if we could do that with the current room I booked since it is just an extra mattress but he said i couldn’t do that. Plantation bay actually charge 1k plus only for an extra person to stay overnight but the front desk doesn’t wanna do that because they want me to change my booking to a more expensive room of five. Anyway, they couldn’t provide the same room that I requested even though i said i was happy to pay for another 6-8k for my toddler. They ended up charging me only 1k plus for an extra person and gave us the same room with pool access. The front desk staff was very rude and has very typical discriminating Filo attitude. Thanks to the manager who facilitated everything though. Not coming back in the future.

The Food is too much salty

The property is huge and offers a number of activities to the guests. The staff are accommodating and service is great!

The fresh water pool leaves black stain marks on your feet and even though they say it can be washed with water it takes days!!! And even with these stains that sticks to your feet they do not allow guests to wear swimming shoes on the freshwater pool!!! Also most food we ordered are on the salty side so maybe guests would need to inform chef to lilow on salt.

The no phone rule. This is super strange to have. In fact we have never had this type of rule before in any hotels we have stayed in!
