"In need of a good clean and some TLC"

Just about everything. Sadly, the place was just plain grubby. It needed a thorough clean from the carpets (not even hoovered) to the kitchen sink. There were hairs and what looked like crumbs in the bed, half-eaten food in the fridge, dead flowers on the kitchen table and horrid, dirty washing up sponges and cloths. We rang the owner, left within 30 minutes of arriving and set about finding somewhere clean to stay - not easy on a busy Saturday night. Huge extra cost and inconvenience. No compensation from Booking.Com, despite being a long-standing customer.

"Exceptional"

The cottage and gardens are beautiful, and ideally located for a stay in the Deal area. Clean and nicely presented. Local bus stop and amenities are all close by. The seafront is only a mile from the cottage. We have definitely found our home from home for that part of the world. In addition, Scott was so helpful.

We had a lovely four days at the cottage. Everything we needed was provided. The beds were extremely comfortable and we got used to the steep stairs fairly quickly. The secluded, tranquil garden provided a peaceful haven after days out spent wandering around Deal, Kingsdown and Sandwich Bay. It was full of interesting plants with a pond covered in water lilies with the occasional glimpse of a fish. Thank you, Scott.

Some comfortable garden chairs would have been a nice addition.
