Milk in the fridge, and fresh bread to welcome us! Excellent location. Characterful property. Really enjoyed staying here and loved the little courtyard and garden nook for morning coffee!

We loved it! Great location, within walking distance from the Tor, Chalice Well and other amenities like the town centre. Parking available just opposite the house and it’s free if you make a purchase at the store. The home is very homely and has everything you could possibly need. My daughter didn’t want to leave!

It was perfect.

When we arrived, we found that the accommodation was severely affected by mold and dampness, making it unhealthy and uninhabitable. We would have left immediately, but all the hotels in town were closed for the night. Unfortunately, it was not until the next morning that we could find alternative accommodation for the remaining two nights. The condition of the Prophecy of Light accommodation posed a clear health risk, did not match the photos or our expectations, and did not meet the advertised standards. In addition to the musty smell and visible mold, there was a cluttered corner behind the sofa in the living room. The house seemed clearly neglected, and we could not stay there even a second longer than necessary. We contacted the owner about the mold and dampness issue the next morning, but we could not resolve it. Initially, she tried to let the matter fizzle out by downplaying it. She claimed that the house had not been cleaned properly, yet she refused to acknowledge the mold and dampness. Also, she didn't want to compensate us for the two nights we couldn't stay in the house. Instead, she offered us a compensation under the condition that we wouldn't leave a review. It was only after I contacted Booking.com and they intervened that the owner finally compensated us for one of the nights.

The place is amazing! All the rooms are stunning and comfortable. The kitchen is big and well equipped. The garden is a dream! We were a group of friends on our first trip together, it was unforgettable. Thank you Kate for letting us stay in your beautiful house. Thank you

Location was great. Well appointed with lovely little welcoming extras. Poor WiFi coverage but extra leads were available for tv to link to laptop and use the internet. V prettily decorated.

We couldn’t turn on heating and the weather was wet and cold for some of our stay. We tried phoning the owner but she only communicated by text or an email that didn’t work. Some of the soft bed mattresses were very poorly supported and not comfortable for some of us.
