"Relaxing, quiet and amazing break !!"

Location was superb for the break we wanted - total relaxation. The views were amazing, the place was spotless and the hosts were so helpful. The hot tub was an added bonus. Everything we needed was within a 10 x mins drive.

Property was very clean and tidy, views were absolutely gorgeous, lovely to get sitting outside. Hot tub was lovely and relaxing. Got a Chinese takeaway delivered and cooked breakfast the next morning and everything we needed was there. House was nice and warm, beds were very comfy. Lots of options on the tv for the evening Netflix, Prime etc. hosts where very helpful and sent a list of recommendations for where to eat nearby and takeaways that delivered. The host was quick at responding to messages. Will defo be back!

The house was clean and tidy

When confirming booking I was text from the owner stating that there was an additional charge for small dogs of £20 and can be paid in cash on arrival. On the website it says small dogs are free. I had a Yorkshire terrier don't think you can get any smaller. As this was expensive and a additional cost I was going to cancel but couldn't as I would lose all the £260 for the one night stay. On the morning of checking in I asked what time can I arrive as it was a suprize birthday trip for my wife's 40th and I was told 4pm. This infuriated me as I spent all this money for one night which I could of got a hotel for may I add but my wife loves watching the sea so this is why I booked it. My wife was at least wanting to watch the sun go down over the see in the hot tub which with the LATE check in on a November night she was deprived of this. Also the owner chased me down the driveway the following day to confirm that I left the £20 for the small dog charge in the room. I will never be back and I will tell everyone about this as I am a local man to them.

"Host acknowledged listing error but still asked for extra cash despite non-refundable booking"

I booked and paid £298 through Booking.com for a non-refundable 2-bedroom apartment for 2 adults, as clearly stated on my official confirmation. When we arrived, one of the bedrooms was locked. The host explained that he believed our booking was for only one bedroom. Because we needed both rooms, the host said he could unlock the second bedroom if we paid an extra £60 in cash. We initially agreed, but after double-checking our Booking.com confirmation, it was clear that our reservation already included two bedrooms, so we did not pay the extra amount. When I raised this at checkout, the host checked the Booking.com website and acknowledged that the listing no longer matched what he had believed it to be, effectively confirming that our booking was correct. Despite this, he continued suggesting that we “reach a compromise” and make an additional payment, referring to WhatsApp messages and cash, rather than resolving it through Booking.com as I requested. There was no apology, and the discussion went in circles. While the host remained polite, the situation was unprofessional — especially considering this was a non-refundable booking that I had fully paid for in good faith. As a frequent traveller and Genius Level 2 member, I’ve always trusted Booking.com, but this experience was disappointing. I hope Booking.com reviews this property and ensures that hosts do not request off-platform payments or misrepresent confirmed booking details.
