"Disappointing"

4.0

Positives: The location is very good, just a short walk from the city centre. The apartment itself is a good size throughout. Host was pleasant and informative in messages. This could (and should) be a real gem

I echo a lot of the issues highlighted in reviews from guests before us. This apartment has a lot of potential. With some thought and attention it could be vastly improved. But having no hot water was frankly inexcusable. This is a basic, fundamental requirement for guests and it just isn't good enough. This issue has been raised time and again by guests, yet nothing has been done to rectify which should be a real concern for anyone considering the apartment as an option to stay. There were a number of issues besides, including: • Cleanliness throughout was poor (I noticed a rancid mop and bucket in the boiler cupboard when I was trying to get some hot water on the go, no wonder the floors were dirty!) • Cutlery falling apart • Lack of kitchen/cleaning products • Oven wouldn't play ball • Front door didn't feel secure The bed did the job but the base was heavily stained; the sofa was fine to sit and chill. We didn't use the sofa bed so can't comment. To summarise, it felt to us as though very little care and/or thought has gone in to ensuring the apartment is presentable, adequately equipped, and fit for purpose. It isn't. We managed with cold showers thanks to the temperatures being mid 20s, but this would be a nightmare through the winter months. It's a shame because as I say, with some time, thought and investment this could be an excellent option that would attract steady business. Instead, the more guests keep leaving the same review, the more reputational damage will be done.

"Would book again for myself and my partner, but not for someone else to stay on the sofa bed, it wasn't comfortable"

7.0

The location was great, the bed was comfortable! The apartment was clean!

The sofa bed wasn't very good so my teen daughter didn't get much sleep. Also, no kitchen towels for washing up.

Good location. Good instructions to get in the property Sugar, plates fridge facilities Good tv

Was not very clean at all hairs etc on scurting boards Very dated dirty walls. Could do with fleshing up Sofa bed facilities not very good - no bottom sheet just mattress protector - could do with a professional clean each time and more bedding etc Very noisy outside which cannot be prevented but a heads up would be great. No privacy from the guest on the sofa bed as there is just a thin sheet to the bedroom. Very expensive for what was provided.

"Boiler issues"

5.0

The location was great, close to everything we needed and the apartment was clean.bthe host was easy to get in touch with and very polite.

The hot water didn't seem to work properly. Even after putting the boost on, the water in the shower heated very briefly before going cold again. The lock also seemed quite dodgy. We had actually chosen this apartment over a cheaper one with reviews that stated there were problems heating the shower so this felt particularly annoying. As we were there for a work conference with lots of networking involved, we were unable to feel our best and most confident. There were also only 2 towels and three of us staying there. Also very weird that the bedroom didn't have a full wall separating it from the living room. We would have liked a little more privacy on that front.

"i would recommend finding somewhere elsewhere to stay"

4.0

the location was good, we were attending a concert at the AO arena so was great for that

i'm not really a fussy guest but even this pushed me to my limits. there was lots wrong with this place. first, the place seemed clean at first glance but on closer inspection the floor wasn't swept as there was hair from previous guests, some of the bedding provided was stained, and the crockery was dirty from when other guests used them. the blinds behind the kitchen sink were filthy and stained. the set of drawers in the bedroom were discoloured and broken, they were hanging on for dear life. when opening the wardrobe, the back panel wasn't even attached to the thing which also revealed that the bedroom isn't separate from the living room. the only thing providing any privacy, was a sheer curtain, the broken down wardrobe and the shelving unit in the living room. as we were a group of 3 this meant none of us had much privacy from the rest of the group. the door in the bedroom also seemed to be taped together at the top. the front door didn't seem too secure, safety & security was a big thing as young women in a city so we weren't too impressed with how rusted the chain seemed. in the bathroom, there was no bath mat which became unsafe as when using the shower water leaked all over the floor since the seal on the shower door wasn't very good. finally, after all of this we couldn't even enjoy a nice hot shower as there was no hot water in the building. i texted the number provided to me and was told the previous guest must've used the hot water up and to boost the boiler and wait 20/30mins for it to heat up. after doing so, the water was barely warm and by the time two of us had a shower and it's my turn, the water is back to being freezing. definitely isn't what you want after a long day and concert. we paid £200 for 2 nights so split between 3 not too bad, but still not sure if it was worth it in the end.
