Stonechat Cottage - Portmagee

Would be an absolute gem, if not a mishap with hot water. An older and, perhaps, a “Spanish” style property with a lot of light colored timber inside. Well equipped, clean and spacious. Location would be probably suitable for the guests with car only.

It took about 30 hours and various calls and SMSs to resolve the hot water issue - it was not available on arrival apart from the shower on the upper floor. There was problem with external (remote) control. Though, we were offered another property by the host, but were quite tired after a long day and declined. Unfortunately, hot water disappeared again the last morning. This would suggest that it was rather management problem.

The house had everything we needed. A complete kitchen, a cozy living, comfortable beds and a great outdoor area!

A super cozy, spacious and inviting property with terrace, garden, two bathrooms, well-equipped kitchen, free ample parking space right in front, a very friendly and helpful host, sea shore in walking distance, quiet surroundings -- all conditions met for a relaxing holiday! The property is in Ardcost, a 10 min drive from both Portmagee and Cahersiveen, both charming places. Cahersiveen has a big supermarket and other shops. From Portmagee you can go across to Valentia Island.

Probably difficult to reach without a car. Otherwise really nothing to complain about!

Overall good and what we expected from description.

Internet not working until the morning of the second day and after we had to phone the contacts to get it sorted. They were very responsive and got it sorted.

Cosy cottage offering all amenities (stove & oven, kettle, toaster, microwaves, dishwasher, washing machine), close to Portmagee, Cahersiveen, the Kerry cliffs (10 - 15 min drive). Lisa's greeting gift was a lovely touch!
