GBVery spacious and full of character. Good layout of the rooms and fantastic comfort.
Communicate about the early check in requirements could have been better. Ended up ringing the office two days before arrival as the 24 hour supposed reply never happened hence the phone call. Small criticism but something to note moving forward
GBThe location was lovely, even though it was right next to the road you didn't hear much of the little traffic that went by. It was easy to find and close to other village hubs where you could find cafe's, restaurants and groceries. Within an hours drive there was loads to do with a 5yo kid. Castles, shopping, playgrounds, alpacas, Beatrix potter world, easy walks, lakes, rivers, lots of good outdoor and indoor fun. The kitchen was spacious and fully equipped. The living room was cozy in a good way and the dinning room was massive, with an additional seating area should the first living room prove too small. The outdoor area was well kept and big enough for a dog or a 5yo kid to run about in without getting too bored. There was an outdoor covered table and seating area but we were there in October so did not use it. The beds were comfortable, although on of the beds was on slanted floor. It had been boosted up on one side to try to even out the tilt, but could probably benefit from a tiny bit more lift. The bathrooms were tidy and spacious, although one bath could have benefited from a shower curtain or glass screen to keep water from going everywhere. We had to sit in the bath to shower. Not a big deal for us but I can see how it might affect others. There was a big storm that knocked out power to the local area for most of the night and afternoon the next day. The management company stayed in touch with us regularly by phone giving updates and followed up with emails confirming information. We were offered a refund for any nights we didn't stay should we choose to leave, but we were there for a wedding so we chanced the power being fixed quickly and decided to stay. All up the power was out from about 7pm to 3pm the next day. There was emergency lighting which lasted until about 11pm by which time we were all in bed anyway. The thick stone walls retained most of the heat and the duvets were nice and thick so no one suffered the cold.
The main living room with the TV in only had 2 sofas. We were 5 adults and a 5yo kid, so it was a little snug. We didn't mind sitting on the floor but I can see how others would. It might be beneficial to put a second TV in the dinning room where there is more seating.
