Urban Escape Entire Apartment Near Uni and Hospital

A new Air B+ B on the site. Very bright, clean and fresh- 2 bedrooms as stated with well equipped kitchen. No communal sitting area as such but a desk/ table in each room on which you could eat / work etc. Love the extra attention to detail - quirky door hangers on the back of doors, the thumbs up hand on the pulley in the bathroom- excellent walk in shower. A double bed in each room, comfortable, well decorated with soft carpet and bright furnishings. A large outside decking area just built but with no outside seating - yet!! Garden in stage of being developed! Check out time is 11 am. We were about 20 mins late and came out to the cleaner very considerately waiting for us to pack the car up and leave to continue our journey. Thank you young man. Parking permit in flat. One large TV in one of the bedrooms. Only drawback to that is that with no communal sitting area that meant my nephew lounging on my bed. If 4 of you that might be difficult 😅 but enough chairs supplied. I must say though that having driven to the Air B+ B the door before with a stopover to watch the England game I was very tired and a knock on the door just before 9 am was not what was expected. Very considerately 👏👏👌 the workmen from the upstairs flat which was being converted let us know they were about to start work. We were then accompanied with banging and drilling till we left. Perhaps that could've started later but obviously once converted that would not happen again.

The street where the property was located wasn't great however it was close to the centre of Southampton/Cruise Terminal. The garden was currently having some work done so there was two builders there doing it when we arrived, so it felt a bit 'unfinished'. The lock on the door is also a bit fiddly. It is 2 bedrooms however its obvious that the 2nd bedroom is actually the living space. I stayed here with my parents and although great to have the 2 bedrooms, of an evening it was a bit awkward with not having anywhere to sit/watch TV other than the bed. Everything is new which is great and the style is lovely... everything felt spotless other than the kitchen which didn't feel as clean. There was butter still left in the fridge, crumbs and the worktops felt a bit sticky etc. The towels are also all new which is great, however would wash first rather than straight out of the packet, as the green fluff sticks to your skin! Overall it did the job for what we needed, we was only there for 1 night.

Comfortable. With a 17-month old having space and privacy is important.

A bin in the kitchen would have been useful and some welcome introductory notes - took a while to understand how the tv worked…

Very clean. Fresh and new place. Clearly a new venture. Handy for university. Keyless door entry is a gem.

A few teething troubles but otherwise will be a lovely place... The bedrooms need window blinds that block out the light/fit fully as we woke up with the sun at 4.30am. Tea and coffee facilities in room is good but unnecessary when you have a full kitchen as you have three kettles for a 2 bed flat. . Importantly a hairdryer would be appreciated. I'd return again as the owners clearly have pride in their place, style and vision.
