Trang An Hana homestay

Got upgraded to a double private room which was amazing. Clean and a great view of the river. Bed was amazing and it was a great place to relax and recharge. I arrived really early after a night bus and put me in a room right away. The family is super friendly and kind and did everything to make everyone feel at home and have a great stay. You can take a bicycle for free to go around as well.

The Hana Homestay was the best. The host family are the nicest people ever and took care of our every want and need. They made us feel like part of the family. The facilities are great and it is in a great location near thr Ancient Capitol of Hoa Lu. 10 Stars!

Beautiful new property by the river. It’s family owned and it feels like a home stay. Hana the owner is incredibly kind and helpful. The property is very peaceful and decorated nicely.

This is a fantastic, well-managed and friendly place right on the river. Good sized rooms, fridge & kettle, comfortable bed, spotlessly clean. Owner goes above and beyond, offering complimentary tea and snacks, giving local info, etc, without the feeling of having your privacy invaded in any way. I would definitely stay again.

The owner is so lovely and sweet! Her and her family will go out of their way to make sure you're enjoying your stay. Beautiful location, scooter hire and free bicycle hire. The rooms are very nice and clean!

Excellent location, right on the water by a little canal/stream. Ha was also an excellent host. She has bikes free of charge, and scooters to rent cheaply. Her rooms are clean, and light, and very well priced! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a cute, friendly place to stay where you can easily scooter or cycle to the main sites in the area.

From the moment my wife and I arrived until the time we (sadly) had to leave, Ha (the host) and her family looked after us better than any other hotel/homestay we have stayed in Vietnam. I have lived in Vietnam for 8 years and my wife is Vietnamese, so we have a fairly good idea about the country and its hospitality! ;o) If you're looking for somewhere to relax during your visit to the Trang An/Tam Coc area of Ninh Binh, then I would highly recommend setting up base at the Trang An Hana Homestay. At the time of our stay, it had been opened for only a couple of months, but it was still practically full each of the 3 night we stayed. That's a clue to how good this place is! Sleeping: The rooms are bright, airy, and exceptionally clean, with everything you would need for your stay, with the majority of them having a direct view onto the river. The WiFi is great, the beds are really comfy, and the showers are perfect. Eating: There's a range of delicious, homemade "A la Carte" options for breakfast, all made with ingredients bought fresh that morning at the local market. There's also freshly made fruit juices and tea or coffee. You can also have lunch and/or dinner here, and if you do, I recommend you have the mountain goat hotpot, it was exceptional. Drinking: There's a fully-stocked bar and the prices are very reasonable, with a range of chilled beers in the fridge. Relaxing: Trang An Hana Homestay lies directly on the riverbank with karst mountains all round you, and is super-peaceful. During the day, you can sit and chill watching people taking a boat trip up the river, and in the evening it's just a wonderfully relaxing place to unwind after a busy day exploring the surrounding area. There's also a small swimming pool on site, which will no doubt be great in the warmer months. So... if you're reading this review, and you're looking for somewhere to stay when you visit Ninh Binh, then it's here.

We almost didn't book this because we were a little suspicious of it only having a few, all 10/10 reviews... but very glad we did! We were told they were only in their second month, which explains low numbers. After HCMC and Hanoi, this was paradise. Nothing fancy, but a brilliant place- our room opened onto the river, with a view of the mountain opposite. You could probably relax here for days, but we hired a scooter from Hana Homestay and visited Trang An (excellent- tourism done perfectly!), Mua Caves (great once you dodge the parking scammers, but uncomfortably busy at the top at sunset), Ninh Binh and Tam Coc (tourist trappy in places). We even extended our stay, mostly down to Ha (with some help from Google translate!), who was incredible throughout, tailor making my girlfriend's breakfast, providing advice on where to visit and keeping us stocked with bananas, water and corn! Clearly a genuinely lovely human being and I don't think we can recommend Hana Homestay (and Ha!) enough! Another 10/10!!!
