Location, layout, generous supplies No noise from station even though it was just below

Many stairs, but that’s the nature of the location, not the fault of the property

It was well appointed and comfortable. The staff were very helpful, from giving clear directions on finding their office, to walking us to the apartment to show us around. It was right next to the train station, which made me nervous about noise, but it wasn’t a problem at all. And the proximity to the train station made exploring Cinque Terre a breeze. Be advised, there are a lot of stairs to get to the apartment, but to be fair, that is true of the entire region. Cinque Terre has a ton of stairs. It’s built into the mountains, after all.

Nothing, really. I would stay again.

The apartment was just as pictured, maybe a bit better. The location was super close to everything. With the train station being close, we would stop in to use the restroom or freshen up before going back out for gelato or dinner. The kitchen was well stocked, espresso machine was great! Snacks were nice to have. Place was clean and roomy. The washing machine and clothes lines outside the bathroom and bedroom were so nice to have!! Made it feel like we were living like locals. The communication from staff was amazing-they texted us the day of arrival and gave VERY clear instructions for after hours check in. And they were very friendly and helpful with storing bags and check out. Overall, an enriching experience.

I had read the comments from the rental company and guests on the stairs and train noise. So we were prepared and they weren’t problems. Was actually nice to discover if you keep going up past the apartment, you hit the hiking trail. Sort of like a back entrance. To add a little about the train noise for future guests, one of the bedrooms is literally right above the train station. The trains run until about 11:45 pm. So noisier until then. There are also high speed trains that run thru the night and don’t stop. But they still sound their horns. Noise only lasts 15 secs but will wake you up. It was hot during our stay and with no AC, we had to leave the windows open at night. When it’s cooler and you can close them, the noise would be much better. I don’t sleep much and my daughter is a very heavy sleeper. We were fine with the noise and would totally stay here again. We did not wear ear plugs but some might find them helpful.

Enough space

At hot summer, pls do not choose this apartment! Close to train station and there is train passing by even at night every 30-60 mins. But you have to keep windows open as there is no air conditioner. Sleeping at summer is not possible for most people. But the price is higher than any apartment in La Spezia where air conditioners are default choice.

I was very pleased by the property personnel who patiently waited on our arrival, gave us the keys and then walked us to the property to show us around.

We really liked the place, however it was very close to the train station that occasionally was very loud. I wish that the AC units were installed, but it wasn’t a big deal since the weather was very pleasant while we were there.

Center of town, very clean with attention to detail.

The town is VERY overcrowded with tourists, which has nothing to do with this property of course.

It was the worst experience we had , we spent 10 days in Italy , and this was the worst of all, starting with the access to the property we had to park our car 3 miles away. The property is in a really bad location next to the train station .we couldn’t rest because of the noice of the train all day all night , . To access to the property it’s like 300 stairs the neighbors are very loud it’s a apartment they are always screaming .feels very unsafe. On top of all that . The host was very rude didn’t want to help us with all the inconvenience we had getting there . She was talking to her coworkers in Italian bad things about us and Americans she made very bad comments thinking that we don’t understand what she was saying , we understood everything , a person like that should not be a host for a place like this, terrible experience. Save your money and don’t spend it in this property you will regret it. They don’t put all the details off how the property is you will find out when you get there . And you won’t find any body to help you .

We absolutely loved our little home on the Cinque Terre. It was conveniently located near the train station and downtown...like just steps away and exactly as expected. And Vernazza is such a beautiful area. We will definitely be back.

La Casa del Pastenello is a beautiful apartment in a perfect location for visiting the Cinque Terre in Italy. Vernazza is a lovely town giving easy access to all the towns of the Cinque Terre, whether it be by ferry or on the Cinque Terre railway.
