The beach was nice and close to the room. The grounds were clean and the pool was well maintained. But for the full story you need to review the negative reviews.

They lost our booking information, and then tried to deny access to my wife when she arrived even though I had already checked in. The room was supposed to have king beds but only had queens and the apartment was missing basics, like dish soap, bathroom soap, enough towels for everyone, and had a poor wifi connection. The second day they shut down the electricity for 12 hours with only a half hour warning, and made no mention of it when we checked in, even though it was a planned power cut for electric work on the unfinished buildings in the complex. We tried to talk to the administration about the lack of electricity and importantly lack of AC with small children and after ignoring our message for hours refused to give any compensation for the inconvenience. Also, the road to the hotel is full of potholes for miles and has a steady flow of dump trucks coming and going from the complex making for a very uncomfortable trip, and potential damage to your car's suspension. Even though the complex was practically empty, there were signs everywhere saying that the seats that were under shade were only for owners and we were told not to sit on them.

The air conditioner on the secondary room was not working properly. It was not cooling the room. The silverware was lacking spoons and it would have been nice to have stainless steel pans.

The fact that I bought through booking that we have early check in and late check in and was not true and we pay extra rate for that and did not receive it. Playa caracol said they can’t control what you (Booking) advertise in your webpage.

Spacious and tidy

The apartment was practically new. The decoration is beautiful and the apartment has all you need to enjoy your trip. The breakfast is good, it’s a buffet. The waves in the location were great for surf.

When we arrived the apartment didn’t have pans. However, the staff helped us and gave us the pans in less than 1 hour.

The fan remotes never worked. One of of my benefits by booking via Booking was late check out which I was denied off, had to leave hours before as planned.

We were double booked what we only found out a day before we would have arrived when we were asking for the details of arrival. Not the slightest attempt to solve something. We then were pushed to cancel ourselves (allegedly because otherwise Booking.com would charge us). Nobody could explain why they couldnt cancel from thier side. Seems like a big scam so I would advise to not consider them when booking at Playa Caracol.
