Lost Shore Surf Resort

We are not surfers and we stayed just overnight before leaving Edinburgh. The room was very small but the bed was comfortable. It is located quite close to the airport.

Long walk to parking. The claustrophobic room with extremely small bathroom.

The view from our chalet was breathtaking. Our chalet was clean and comfortable. Amenities were updated and loved the open plan - very conducive for big groups to bond and enjoy their time together. Staff were accommodating and kind. My family travelled from the US and England and we enjoyed our 4 nights stay in our Chalet. We are glad we ditched the convenient hotel city stay for this experience and view. We stayed in our chalet on our last day - lazy day after our London and Edinburgh tours days prior, and the best staycation. We will definitely be back.

We loved the property our stay in general. We understand that it’s a “surfer’s resort” but we (non surfer guests) would have loved if … : 1. …There was a 24/7 reception service. As our chalet was 15-20min walk from the main reception, it would be helpful if we could speak to someone for inquiries whenever we needed. They only had a night manager On-call and receptionist from 10am-3pm. Though we could email, but response usually take overnight. 2. …There was more staff to assist guests who are non-surfers. We noticed limited staffing to help out. We called on our first day for extra bin bags but none was delivered. We bought bin bags ourselves - which was not a super problem. Just as an example of - maybe if there were more staff, it could have not been missed? 3. …The resort had a “buggy for rent” service. As the 15-20min walk is not bad, but if you have 8 large suitcases/luggages plus handcarries plus a pram and a toddler, it was a challenge taking heavy stuffs from the car park to the chalets as cars were only allowed on the outside parking of the resort. A buggy rented would have been convenient. Though they had a buggy service for check-in and check out, you will have to book a time slot ahead of time with them for staff to be available on your leaving. So not much of a flexibility. PS: Shout out to the night manager who accommodated our very late check-in due to flight delays. Even helped us with the luggages at 11pmisssh at night. Thank you! 4. …They had a partner “taxi company” for guests who are not so internet/tech savy. As the resort is around 30-40min drive to the city centre, it would benefit if they have a tie-up taxi company who the guests can contact for booking pick ups to their destinations as not all guests who are staying in the resort are surfing. We were a fam of 8 and needed to book 2 uber taxis at times as uber XL only takes 6pax max. However, there were taxi companies offering big taxis who could carry us all at once.

Lovely spot. We really enjoyed our stay. We celebrated my son's birthday at the resort and his party was very well organised. Kids loved surfing We stayed in the Kurve and it was perfect for a family of 4. We enjoyed the firepit outside. Restaurant is really nice too and pizzas are gorgeous! We will stay again soon.

I wish there was a bigger selection of drink and food/snacks to buy to bring to the lodge. Like a mini market. You really need to bring it all yourself.

Perfect stay for an early morning flight from Edinburgh. Lovely cafe bar with WiFi to enjoy a drink while watching the surfers

Very new cabins great location.

The food in canteen was very poor quality. My son was served a chicken burger with the chicken still pink inside.
